weve probably gotten through most of the big name announcements but youll still see a few more through December or so. there are some announcements missing from the past few weeks Ive noticed but more and more announcements are for commitments to second/third tier schools like Georgia Tech, Cal Davis, Binghamton, Valpo, etc. plus some Ivy commitments here recently as they are done differently of course (Columbia has quietly put together a pretty good women's freshmen class). should probably identify the remaining big names that havent announced yet as its a manageable list at this point. Cieslak might be the biggest name on the girls side. UVA? UNC? NC State? still not sure about her.

I suspect they bring in 2 and are waiting as long as possible to see who the best 2 will be. A half dozen other guys who would normally be good enough for BYU will pick another school once that happens.
Cieslak took her visits to Florida, Duke, Virginia, Stanford, and UNC, per chatter around the county XC championship last month. I heard Stanford was the leading contender, but am a bit surprised no announcement has been put out yet.
Her buddy Clemmie Lilley just announced for Stanford. both sub 2:06 half milers. does this make it more likely or less likely Cieslak does also?

I wonder the same thing. Stanford isn't against recruiting more than 1 high level 800 specialist at a time (Willis and Whittaker) so maybe they are getting 2 stars this cycle as well. It feels odder and odder to me that Cieslak hasn't announced (could she have needed a last minute SAT/ACT score bump? Did that not go well in Oct and now there's scrambling/reshuffling?). Her teammate and also very good (but not national caliber) runner Camryn McGeehan also hasn't announced. So maybe there's something about the HS team that's impacting timing of announcements. It's odd.
