What does it mean when it says "Peres Jepchirchir smashed the women-only world record by 45 seconds" what even is the women-only world record. I though Tigist Assefa was the women's world record holder in 2.11

Another made up record (not world record) to give out more awards!

Because the women started on their own and not with the men, it's considered a "women's only" event as there were no men on the course.
Until today we had more women under the standard than men! Cali Thackeray, 2.23, Charlotte Purdue, 2.23 and Rose Harvey also has the standard after a fantastic run in Chicago. Wouldn’t describe them as F rate.
Women’s qualifying standard is always much weaker relative to the best. 2:23 is not even remotely competitive on the world stage. They are purely there to make up the numbers
Right so equally the US are not competitive in the women’s field either then? Since none are hitting the 2.15-2.18 times. My point is - British women are F rate compared to who? British men? Or the Ethiopian/Kenyan women?
OK why did so many drop out of the men's race but literally zero women dropped out? Six out of eight Ethiopians, Mateiko, Nascimento. Five dropped it seems immediately after Bekele and Mutiso pulled away, makes little sense with prize money still on the table. Did a motorbike or car take them all out? That would at least make sense.
