She can be competitive but probably not win upcoming national hs meets, but may be 100 % by USATF.

She’s racing the nation’s best in less than 3 weeks and ran 4:18 for 1500, that’s not good. She’s racing pros and they will stomp her like they did today. Looks like she’s injured. She should shut it down and get ready for XC.

She ran 4:11.53 (en route to a 4:29.34 mile) and 4:09.84 (en route to a 4:27.97 mile) in early February indoors.

Definitely not in the same condition as earlier in the year.

Her iG interview she says 4:03 this year and wants 4:05-4:07 at this race. way off. She stormed off the track after.

Why all the vitriol?

She's just back from an injury break. Anything under 4:40 mile makes her competitive with all but Jane H in the national hs meets.

USATF is not til July 31 this year. Still 2+ months to sharpen up for that meet. Perhaps then she can go for a pr then.

Personally, I thought her post injury opener could be much slower.

Wont happen. She’ll shut it down. It’salmost June and she ran 4:18. Not a good run for late May.

What injury did she have

This is her very first injury, correct? Always wondered how she’s able to race so consistently fast so often throughout every season of high school and never get injured. Kind of amazing.

No, Jaelyn Williams is not going pro. There is nothing wrong with a California high school runner having an NIL deal. She's had that NIL deal since August and she ran all the CIF xc meets with no problem.

Sadie could have run for her high school senior year as she ran in pro races and against collegians her junior year as well. She didn’t do anything different her senior year that caused her to become ineligible with CIF that she didn’t do her junior year.

The story I heard was that her high school was insisting she run dual and league meets as a priority and at their discretion. She didn’t feel that would allow her to train and race in a way that would have enabled her to accomplish her goals.

Winter track is not a CIF sport, so there is no conflict.

NCAA nationals was the first time she was ever on the national qualifying XC team. And NC state even won nationals! Good for her!
When she went to Ventura, her XC team never made nationals
