meet record is kind of a dumb stat for cross, but course record is a pretty big deal. not a sport that is on tv much, so i'll excuse them for not being in enough of a comfort zone to say everything that needs to be said.
overall, this is one of the best running broadcasts ive seen. especially by american standards.
Parker Valby has a great personality and this is what is needed for this sport.
I've never heard a Valby interview before. She's obviously on the post-victory high, but I found her really personable. She did a lot for herself today in the post-collegiate world (open question what will happen, given the level of competition and training coming up, if she tries to go pro).
Agree, I've always been sort of indifferent towards her, never watched any interviews, but I'll root for her going forward.
ND woman who ran out early is Siona Chisolm. She ran 15:37 and was 10th in the 5k last spring. She's a very good runner but has been sluggish all fall. She can't run the way her head wants her to. As a Domer - great run for the Markezich twins and Strzeleki and their two frosh ran well. Last few years, great job peaking and this year 4th!! Valby and NC State - great wins!!
NAU girl doing it for the Strava(!) and getting outleaned while stopping her watch at the line punching the air rn. NAU would’ve win tiebreaker. Wonder what the caption will be
If someone wants data, there is no reason to start/stop the watch at the gun/finish. Just start your watch while doing strides and stop your watch after wandering away from the finish. You can manually trim the run to just the race when you get back to your phone.

I saw another girl in a cross country race do that same thing last year and it cost her team the team title by 1 point.
Don't these coaches drill it into their heads to focus on getting THROUGH the line FIRST, and THEN stop the watch?
World class coach vs world class international recruiter. Let’s see who prevails
... Is anybody going to tell NAUSUX about NAU and the transfer portal this year on the women's side or the foreign athletes they've always had on their team? Lol
so Theo Quax and Corey Gorgas look like NAU's 6 and 7 runners. I dont see Colin Sahlman and Kang Nyoak is in sweats, looks like he's not running (unless he's just staying warm)
Valby is going to be a millionaire. Really hope she can get her health under control. Such a talent. Very charismatic. and the looks go without saying, which is important in the world of sponsorships, even though some dummies will throw vote downs at that.
From where I'm sitting, it looks like she's got her health under control.
