The more I see wheelchair coverage the more I’m opposed to it being part of these running events. It’s unlikely there are more than 25 elite wheelchair athletes in the world, of those the top ones have superior equipment so the rest are disadvantaged. For a sport that wants to raise awareness for the disabled overcoming obstacles it may be doing the opposite as it seems to promote cheating and not equity.
