But Tucker choose to lie and tell his viewers the election was stolen for months on air, inciting insurrection and undermining the nation.

THEN after he is fired tucker says HE is the truth teller and will be fine.

The Republicans are just so bad at democracy. They should see through charlatans like tucker and trump. But they can't. Because transgenders.

I am honestly curious why you think the left is destroying democracy? It sounds from your post that you think they are destroying some kind of impression you have of what America’s culture should be. Although I disagree with you, I also don’t want to put words in your mouth. With all due respect, some of the others (some more kind than others) have laid out pretty specifically what it is about the far right, and Donald Trump in particular, that constitutes weakening democracy. But, and I apologize if I missed, I don’t see that with you.

Does fighting for climate change weaken our democracy? Does fighting for transgender and abortion rights omit our democracy? Does allowing historical books on race and genocide in our libraries weaken our democracy? Does enforcing tax collection and infrastructure building weaken our democracy? Does wanting legal immigration weaken our democracy?

I’m not very political but this is what I see the left as standing for. Again, I could be mistaken. If I am right that is the democracy I want to live in. If I’m wrong, then please tell me not only what I need to fear on the left, but why I should believe the right is a better choice (despite many of the aforementioned issues with the right).

And the reason he got fired are these:

Carlson didn't mean any of that for public consumption, but that doesn't matter now. It is public. You can't publicly say your company's number one product is bogus and defective and only idiots would buy it, and expect to remain employed at your company. Impossible. Fox had to axe him.

No, you've probably spent too much time secluded in that mental institution of yours to accurately gauge what mainstream public thought is. For the last 70+ years, normal people exercising common sense have correctly regarded Russia as a dangerous enemy of the United States. Carlson's Russia-apologist schtick was neither mainstream, nor normal, nor common sense.

I'm in a rush right now, so the short story is that the critical theories and postmodern theories that are the crux of so-called "woke" ideology are explicitly illiberal. They argue, in no uncertain terms, that political liberalism is an elaborate smokescreen to keep people down. In place of these liberal ideals, which really are the backbone of democracy and truth-seeking, they insert identity politics, queer theory and the like. These theories ramp up tribalism and hatred while enabling psychopaths and narcissists who are on a quest for power. If anybody bothers to watch watch what happened at The Evergreen State College, you'll see these ideas in action.

In America, so many of us have been taught about the horrors of fascism and not enough about the horrors of communism. Both are authoritarian ideologies that lead to bloodshed. It's a mistake to believe that authoritarianism is only a rightwing phenomenon.

The left is the biggest threat today because they have captured some of our most important institutions, including education and the media. The Democratic party made the stupid decision to cede power to some of the far left, not knowing that just a tiny dose of this stuff is horribly destructive.

You know what else you could have seen "every single day" if your eyes and ears were truly open, and not listening to Fox and others? Trump's staggeringly poor character and behavior that should have disqualified him from from any public office whatsoever. That's kind of important.

AFTER Trump arrived, as mentioned above, it was PHENOMENALLY clear to any actual, thinking conservative that he shouldn't hold any public office. After so many other disqualifying actions and words, he Li-ter-all-y tried to destroy our democracy.

So, do Americans who saw all of that and STILL support him deserve at least "civic" contempt?

Queer people have always been here, always around us. They have not magically, "appeared" because the Left started talking about them.

I understand these ideas might make you uncomfortable - the idea that gay people are all around you, and they might see the world differently. But this draws people in to institutions, it doesn't expel them.

A fascinating response by GD. It is filled with vague ideas and fears. It is a series of nonsensical phrases that I assume are intended to sound academic. The only specific thing mentioned is Evergreen State College. I thought it was going to be some compound type takeover story by armed militant liberals, or evil government squashing of military conservatives. I googled it and found nothing. This is typical of TC viewers and others like him. They have a strong sense that liberals are evil hypocrites, but are short on facts just as the show was. Part of being a liberal is usually valuing education and thought. This is why they usually can post a list of actions by Trumpicans that are dangerous to America.

I should have added that a company (disney) in Florida said things the state's right wing governor didnt' like...so now the right wing governor is using the power of the government to hurt the company. Because the company disagrees with the politics of governor.

But sure, evergreen mfing college is the problem and not government using state power to force companies to toe the political line.

I think GD is pretty fascinating because he is a solid representation of the right atm. I understand not liking the left’s values. Listen, agree or disagree, if you think transgender isn’t “real”, that gays marrying is a degradation of their marriage, if abortion is murder, if Mexicans are rapists and lazy and immigrants don’t belong here… if saying things like blacks have been persecuted for a long time and we should acknowledge racism in this county in an effort to make it better makes you uncomfortable, then listen, I get it. There is debate to be had and your values are likely very different than the lefts values. And that’s ok. That’s what makes America great. There really isn’t a value system other than work hard to make it to the top and because of that we can have difference values or live in areas o the country with people who have similar values as us.
But to be clear, the lefts values are for tolerant behavior towards all while the rights values tend to be less tolerance.
I also think it’s odd that the right keeps bringing up the lefts “takeover” of our cultural and educational institutions. What did the left do… storm the museums, opera houses and school? No. They’re the ones who just cared for them. 50% of this country is Republican. It tells you something about what the right values when the arts and education are dominated by democrats.
I fear my child learning to be intolerant and not learning about the atrocities of the world to understand how to avoid them. That is what the right largely wants at its core.

I actually sympathize with a lot of the culture war.

I do not like the lack of free speech on campus. I do not like the near obsession with race. I do not like all the rigid separating of Americans by race, sexual preference, etc.

Surgery on transgender kids should not be allowed.

The relentless dragging down of America on the left should not happen.

Clearly there are problems with the city approach to raising up urban african american men.

But all that pales in terms of what we see from the Rs. What I listed above is like a 12/100 while Trump pushing to overthrow democracy with violence and other means is a 100/100.

The R strategy is to find 4 wedge issues that make people like GD say 'well the Rs aren't great but at least they don't believe X like the Dems do so I'll vote R.'

And it works. It gets voters to ignore the whole 12/100 vs 100/100 thing.

Yes they did actually they rioted in the streets and looted business and police stations until they got their way. "DEI" was never popular in democracy but it was forced on us thru violence

What I gods name are you talking about? Maybe you don’t realize this, but if you take the top 25 schools in the country the vast majority have always been heavily liberal. And very northwest liberal arts school? Always liberal. This isn’t new. Every cultural institution has always been dominated by the left. You think because some people rioted around blm all of a sudden there is some shift to far left leaning ideals? Said the same thing after Rodney king too? Or the riots of the 60s? Funny how those riots are often around police injustice towards blacks, btw. See a pattern? Probably not because the right wing media wants hon to believe the cops were in the right.
