Someone please refresh my memory: Was FDR shamelessly and pathetically angling for the Nobel Peace Prize after we dropped the first 14 bombs on Germany?
Yes he was. Don't you recall?
It was right after FDR verbally threatened to annex Greenland, Canada and Panama for no reason other than we need them.
Of course, Trump can't even remotely get that part correct (horrible imperialism aside). Of course, we don't "need" them. One of one or two superpowers for going on a century without owning any of them. And zero reason to believe that that has or will change.
I'd rather jump off a bridge than live in Miami or Dallas. Chicago and New York are significantly better
Walk around Miami for half a day and you'll feel like English is a foreign language. ICE could probably cut the population in half with one good restaurant sweep. But at least it's lively. Jesus Christ, Dallas is the lamest city ever constructed on American soil. Nothing happens in Dallas. If you ever want to sit in sweltering heat and dust doing absolutely nothing but stare at flat nothingness, then Dallas is for you.
I'm not hot enough, shallow enough, or Latino enough for Miami. Dallas is more my people but I've done some google mapsing around there and it's a very, very ugly city. Affordable 4 bedrooms in the suburbs but for what? A brown yard and an hour commute? I'd rather pay income tax. I should have never left Chicago. Best city in the world (during the months of June, July, and August)
I have lived in Brooklyn and I have lived in Houston and I have lived in Austin.
Houston and Austin are much better than Brooklyn.
Absolutely insane statement. I get it if you're not a fan of city living but in no world are those Texas dumps "much better".
Austin is not a dump. Houston is not the greatest but it does have some nice qualities. Austin is a great city though the Libs have taken over it. Have you been to either city?
What you are witnessing today is the uncanny power of Trump setting a false narrative in stone. Despite the best intelligence telling us to the contrary, Trump is 100% committed to making his bombing of Iran the most successful military operation in our history. Trump is directly contradicting his own people that are responsible for evaluating this. The smartest people in this field. And the scary thing is that it will probably work domestically.
Trump on Iran's nuclear capabilities: "It's gone for years ... CNN is scum. MSDNC is scum. The New York Times is scum. They're bad people. They're sick. And what they've done is they've tried to make this unbelievable victory into something less."

Similar to so many other scary thoughts about out country: What competence and honesty is left at DIA (and other intel organizations, and so much of the rest of the executive branch) in 6 months? A year? 3.5 years?
Question of the Day. For whom should we feel most sorry?
a) Those poor bomb-dropping B-2 pilots who have to hear that their 14 bombs MIGHT not have changed world history?
b) The entire IDF, who sees their months and months of success against Iran and its proxies overshadowed by 14 American bombs and few dozen Tomahawks.
OR.....drum roll.....
c) The FOUR B-2 pilots who had to fly their 2 bombers in the wrong freakin' direction out over the Pacific ???
.who
.
[the answer is "c"]
Their mission was to fly in the wrong direction so that the Iranians would be deceived. They performed it exceptionally well and should be proud of themselves. Why should we feel sorry for them?

Yes, it is interesting to see that Trump can convince people in the US while the rest of the world is scratching their beards. It is just like the old Chinese "communism", the nazis in Germany, the old Soviet etc. But it is strange for this to happen in 2025 when most have access to education

Good news: There are still a few decent people left in government willing to leak info that proves Trump a liar. We'll see how many more months or years that can last.
Bad news: NOTHING has changed. A huge fraction of America is perfectly OK with a president who's a pathological liar. Proven over and over and over again.

Lots of variables in play, but I'm convinced that (lack of) character/principles is a bigger factor than (lack of) education. WAY too many college-educated Trumpers out there.

Gotta love the robotic, insincere "We support the troops" crap. "They flew west exceptionally well and should be very proud of themselves" (!!!)
My guess is (seriously) that there are already patches commemorating their special mission. And they certainly don't need your (or Trump's) BS pats on the back.

They are defending your country and your lazy liberal asss. And all you have is to be on here day after day after day year after year and year after year just trashing Trump. Does it not ever get old?
Secretary Marco Rubio: “I know of no president, probably in our modern history—that has sought peace more than President Trump has."
The word “sought” is doing the heavy lifting in this dumb comment.
Yes. Trump sought peace but was woefully incompetent and incapable of producing it. And recently he decided to start bombing and give Israel the green light to do the same. All part of his incompetent seeking of Peace.
