Yes, but if you read the entire post (it was short, no large words), I questioned whether Mr. Young had struck out on his own and the RV caught up to him. Since Montrose, the progress of the transponder has been more in-line with yesterday.

Disappointing is the "do it for me, now, to suit my impatience" attitude prevalent on this thread. If you are not putting yourself out there, you must learn to live with what you are offered.

The point is that he can't cheat whilst they are there. Whether he cheated before they turned up is largely dependent on whether we can get hold of unmodified GPS watch data files - like the original ttbin files. Manipulating those is hard work. Any downstream data like gpx/fit files or what you see on Strava can easily be complete fiction.

The record recognition went out the window when he started completely on his own without even telling his crew never mind any independent witnesses, And note that the TomTom screenshots showed nothing from May 13th.

Just found some proof Rob would never cheat:

Yes I've met him, yes I've witnessed his last journey of 370 marathons in a year (WITH NO SUPPORT VEHICLE) but with plenty of people,who actually got off their arse(!), and RAN with him and supported him through his epic run. AND...... some of the 370 were ultras.... Yet, he still counted it as 26.2 marathons! He is THE most humble guy with the HIGHEST INTEGRITY ever.

Do you not think that he has garnered much more attention because of this thread than he ever would have received even if he broke the "record?"

Although he has to publicly loathe the thread, he is probably eating it up.

Highly unlikely his attempt was on the up and up until a few days ago.

What about the children?

No way should this be a "record" even if he would somehow make it, nor should it be listed as a true transcon.

But I am now kind of rooting for him.

If he is able to grind it out to the finish, perhaps he will learn some humility.

The next time he opens his mouth, maybe he will not write checks his legs cannot cash.

No doubt this guy can run, just not to the level he thinks.

Hope Laz stays with him and mentors him through the finish.

For those out there along the route, go out and show Robert what the running community is really about. Give him S@$T for his bravado, but encourage him to keep going. Slog out the 12 minute miles with him. Show him and everyone else that LRC is not just a bunch of dbags, but an actual community.

BTW - I think there needs to be a study on lost productivity due to this thread. Bet it would beat out March Madness handily.

If you watch a movie, even though you didn't make that movie yourself, you are still allowed to think the movie was a total piece of shlt. In this case, even though people (some from far away countries) haven't travelled to the US to follow this mess, doesn't mean they can't have an opinion on those who did. You would expect with 5 guys there to watch is going on, that there would be more information about what is going on. But, There really isn't, which is strange. People are allowed to be disappointed by that. It is strange for a team of people to travel all that way to watch and then provide very little information for what is actually going on. One is allowed to doubt the competence and sanity of a group who appear so clearly devoid of any modern day technological ability.

Why? There is no evidence Laz is even there? Where is his GPS data etc? A bigger team needs to be funded to go down there and see if Laz is there. You all believe Laz is down there because someone reposted two text messages he sent, but you refuse to believe Rob is running across America despite him providing a lot more detail than Laz?

I don't think there's any dispute that Rob is running across America. The question is did he cheat in the early days of the effort and in Kansas. All the data for recent days and all the ultrageezers watching him now won't answer that and I kinda don't see the point of much of what's going on now, but I haven't heard anyone question whether he is running across America.

If you wanted to do the fastest crossing of America from Pacific to Atlantic, wouldn't you choose to do it in Panama?

it's been arbitrarily divided into days starting at midnight EST. Strava obviously isn't going to cope too well graphing out paces with 12 minute samples, but might be useful to compare with the TomTom data if it ever becomes available.
