Whoa!! I never saw that thread with Mimi's announcing her attempt. Crazy that she writes, "Hopefully with the tracker people will be able to find me quite easily plus email and phone information is/will be on the website so people can contact my crew if they want to come and join me - or they can surprise me!!"
For a moment, I thought it had to be a fake thread since the comment above is so opposite of what she's doing.

As of late Wednesday afternoon, the most recent Strava update from Sandy was Monday morning, so her data was 48 hours+ late. And she wasn't in some remote box canyon with no network access: her Garmin tracker showed she was in the city of Fort Collins Colorado. My reason for raising the issue was not to imply cheating by Sandy, but to point out the obvious double standard at work. At several times in the past, people on this thread had seized on Mimi's Strava update delays of a couple of hours as being a major issue and strong evidence of data tampering. Yet when Sandy had her own Strava update delay that was far far worse than Mimi's, people just shrugged it off.
Some will claim this double standard is justified, because they feel other pieces of Mimi's data are suspect. I don't agree with that. Each piece of data stands on its own, and should have a consistent standard of rigor applied.
So sometimes Strava updates are delayed. It's pretty normal. People need to stop posting "data tampering!" every time Mimi's update is 2 hours late.

I don't know if the complaint about the mountains is a valid one for lack of internet connectivity. Considering Fort Collins is right there as you said, it shouldn't be an issue.
I disagree that people are saying "data tampering every time Mimi's update is two hours late". It's not evidence of cheating but something is off when it happens this frequently. I am almost certain it's more the fault of the support team than Miranda's. She has enough to worry about.

She posted one day later, 24 hours after the END of the run until the END of the next day's run. You are an idiot to claim 48 hours counting from the end of the PRIOR day's run. THE SOONEST ANY RUN CAN BE POSTED IS ~24 HOURS AFTER THE RUN OF THE DAY BEFORE. In caps because for trolls.
Mimi had another wrong turn today, there was one yesterday as well. She will add another mile or so to her overall run. Her team should help her navigate the course. These route diversion should not happen.
I looked at Mimi's planned route (on her webpage) and she backtracked to her intended route. She went north and returned to run south as she originally intended.

Exactly. When a runner is having troubles they do not need unnecessary extra miles to run. It totally screws them up mentally, they lose confidence. Look no further than Jim Walmsey's wrong way turn in the 2016 Western States 100. An extra couple of miles off course and he was done. He cracked. From record setting pace to 20th place.

I say she has to cut the mileage back. Maybe to 50 and see if she can hold out. Amazingly, she could finish in 55 days if she ran 50 per day from here on out. Mimi needs to stop caring about 53 days--the sub 50 pace she was on is lost--and run her own race. There is no guarantee Sandy will be able to finish. She is not even halfway across the country, but she will be soon.
Mimi should cut the mileage back but she won't.
They are both entangled in that virtual race that they might brake both soon.
Coach Krupski is pushing Sandy over her limits because he thinks she is capable of doing 60+ mile days.
Shins splints is on it's way, it won't be pretty.
Sandy is spending fewer hours running than Mimi. Mimi is more in danger of leg injuries especially considering her major knee surgery of a year ago. Sandy ran 60.0 miles yesterday only because they were told the stopping place they chose at 55 miles could not be used because it was nest to a nuclear missile silo.

I have to go back inside to get it so I invite them in.The main sheriff asks me if I know what I am parked next to. A gas well I say???? Nope a NUCLEAR MISSILE SILO! The Air Force that dispatched the sheriff to check on possible terrorist activity. I had been reported driving up and downtown the road before I parked there. Yes officer I was looking for a good safe place to park for the night.
All was good after they ran my Nevada plates and Vegas license and determined that I was really doing what I said. I had our tag cards to pass out with all the information! Deputy Gonifas will now be following along as we head across the rest of America and I will be even more careful about where I park the Mothership!
