This is a very interesting issue. If the worst of the worst happens (Strait of Hormuz shut, strikes on Iran oil terminals, counterstrikes on Saudi and Emirati oil facilities, price spikes to $120-150 a barrel), Trump has a big decision to make. Trump has the authority to order a ban on US oil exports. That would give the US the ability to shut itself off from world oil markets and could keep oil prices in the $60-70 a barrel range in the US as the US is now a net exporter of oil and produces more than enough to meet its own energy needs. But, it would slash profits for US oil companies. And "slash" is an understatement.
Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
To The Department of Energy: DRILL, BABY, DRILL!!! And I mean NOW!!!
US rig count is down to about 554. Was about in the 780s during a peak around 2023 when prices and demand were more favorable. The US oil industry has plenty of slack to meet demand right now.
It seems pretty clear that an Iranian strike on US bases in Qatar is imminent. I would also suspect bases in Kuwait might also get hit. Iran wants to avoid targeting Saudi soil to avoid having the Saudi's bomb Kharg Island in retaliation. Bases just across the gulf are difficult to defend from missile attacks. Probably a similar retaliation to what happened after the Soleimani assassination.

I almost hate to ask this, but the Pentagon certainly should be thinking about it:
What is Iran retaliates and there is signifcant loss of life for American troops? Like, the kind of thing that would make Benghazi look like child's play.
“These ICE raids are fucqin’ nuts… if Trump had said we’re gonna go to Home Depot and arrest everyone, tackle people at construction sites, I don’t think anyone would’ve signed up for that… It’s crazy.”

1) Of course plenty would have signed up for that. They signed up for everything else that Trump is, and they did or would have signed up for that, too. Is picking up an non-criminal illegal at Home Depot worse than trying to steal an election?
2) And I don't know what the breakdown is between him emphasizing deporting criminal illegals during the campaign, and all illegals, but when you promise "mass deportations" and talk about building freakin' camps, America knew damn well that he was talking about a lot more than just deporting "rapists and murderers."
Fake surprise on the part of a guy (Rogan) who's made a LOT of money mostly telling rubes what they want/need to hear.
Leopards eating faces should be reserved for the everyday rube. Rogan and Tucker and the others - who made millions PRETENDING that they don't know what leopards do - don't even "deserve" that.

Who takes the blame for that? Surely Trump won't.
Ummm . . . ever heard of Joe Biden?
Seriously, how is that even a question?
Yes. There has been no retaliation yet but the narrative has already been spoken on cable that any retaliation is because of Biden.
Dumb? Yes
Cultlike? Yes
Will Trumpers be dumb enough to believe it?
Yes! Not only will they be dumb enough to believe. But they will be posting it as truth on this message board.

The people on those bases are nothing but potential future speech props for Donny. He doesn't give one sh** if they're hurt. Of course.
