Exactly. Get off his nuts. Some of you spend more time talking about Herbster then you spend revising your own resume... a lot of you are salivating over predicting where he “might” be. Until announcement comes it’s all speculation, and he’s no more important then anyone else whose name comes around on this message board. Get off his nuts.

UCF made their new head coach announcement and hired 2 coaches plus a director of ops in less then 3 weeks. You would think administration would hire faster so coaches can’t start recruiting and building their program. It’s almost cross country season.

You all have to remember that sometimes the hiring process takes some time bc i takes most schools time to get the position listed on their website. Then they have it posted for 3-5 weeks before they even look at the pool of applicants. Some will look at them as they come in. Then they make phone interviews and narrow it down to 3-5 for on campus interviews. Then over a 2 week period they will bring them in for interviews. It's hard in the Summer time because the interview committee and other offices may not be on campus all summer. This makes it hard to get the committee together for these interviews. Then i know that a lot of times they make an offer and a lot of times the first person they offer it to rejects the offer. So they may offer to another candidate that interviewed or they may bring in 2-3 more over a 1-3 week period again and it starts over. Once an offer is made and is accepted then background checks have to happen and once this is done and some other checks they can finally make the announcement! So you see its not usually a 3-4 week process. I know of at least 4 jobs that were offered to coaches this summer and were turned down and the process started all over! And Vanhoy was not any of them believe it or not!!!
Wrong jocko. Phones calls are made to individuals before all of this if a HC has someone he/she has in mind. Call it testing the waters, are you at all interested, would you be, could you be etc. Sometimes this process takes longer because those phone calls are met with a no, not interested.

Only 3 programs in P5 truly have 3 sprints hurdles positions; USC, LSU and Texas A&M. Kentucky did but now with new head coach? Texas did but no longer and maybe you can count South Carolina....

Coaches meeting at ACC XC Championships will look completely different this year
Winston-Salem State has named KayMarie Jones as their head coach. They have not formally announced it anywhere. I know because I had a meeting with her today to discuss the upcoming indoor season and schedule. She was an athlete at Adams State and worked most recently at New Mexico Highlands.
