Robert Young fakes run across America

My Google Maps tally for RW's tracker miles this afternoon, starting at 4:15-ish on Cumberland Rd just east of Brownstown, to the Walgreen's parking lot in Effingham at 11:30pm-ish is:

21.3 miles, at 14:47 per mile.

It was 74 F and 91% humidity at midnight in the Eff'ing city, and there's a chance of a shower or thunderstorm in the early morning hours. Expected overnight low is 72 F, and the high temperature on Tuesday should be right around 88 F,

Oops, wrong time zone; RY started running about 6:15 CDT. I'm in the PDT so it was 4:15 for me. His tracker was on the go for about 5 hours and 15 minutes to the Walgreen's lot.

I was following a guy who just rode his bike 31 consecutive days to achieve the highest mileage ever achieved in 1 month period on a bicycle - close to 6,500 miles. I don't recall the exact figure. He isn't going to publicly promote it or seek glory until it's certified, but all the data is there on Strava.

Here is his statement when asked about it -

"I'm waiting on the UMCA to evaluate & confirm my final mileage. I'll wait for the UMCA to make a statement before making any public announcements."

I agree with the person who compared Rob Young with Jesus. That cracked me up.

Now Robert who was a God of Ultra's and has never felt pain and suffering because of his godly fitness level has shed his life as a Goddly trappings and is allowing himself to feel pain and suffering as he puts in slow mile after slow mile like a peasant.

I'd be reluctant to send this to a jury based on what we can prove now.

Do we have "the preponderance of the evidence" (which essentially means that it was more likely than not that something occurred in a certain way).

Again I'd be reluctant to go to a jury as we are now.

People just do not get the reality of running times, distances and the interplay of so many things that are involved in ultra or multiday races.

The old saying "judged by people not smart enough to get out of jury duty" has a bit of reality behind it. Getting six out of eight on your side is not as easy as one would think especially dealing with a concept they do not really understand (long distance running) and so much he said/they said stuff being at the core of and pivotal in deciding degree of proof.

If I rojo I'd keep my wallet in my pocket on this one.

Do I think runners and knowledgeable fans get it? Yes . ..

but I doubt we will see a jury that stacked with runners and knowledgeable fans.

I follow a lot of the Tour riders on Strava. Alex Dowsett who held the one hour record recently uploads his rides, he's in the Tour de Suisse right now. Dozens of the riders are uploading (47 for yesterday's stage).

It really getting hard to differentiate the two with Rob. Also if he really did say that where was the other person in the video? You are going to let some stranger walk away with your phone in the middle of the night? That other person isn't in the video at all?
