Athletic Director Peggy Carl has announced Nick Mattis as the next head coach of the Mansfield Mountaineers men's and women's cross country and track and field programs.
anyone know how long ago Michigan St & Zac Ball parted ways? Seemed like he was gonna do well there given the success Central Mich had with his recruits
The Head Coach is Not Good All his athletes Transferred and they can’t keep a distance or throws coach seems like the sprints coach is the only reason the program is still alive
CHARLOTTE ??? A familiar face has returned to the Charlotte Track and Field program as Kyle Helf, who previously served Charlotte in the same role, has been tabbed
Idk if it’s good or bad, but sure as heck has been very strange. I think we’re looking the culmination of several uncertainties with this lawsuit play out. You have schools retaining current staff they may have otherwise not retained because they don’t know exactly what the rules will be going forward. You have a lot very good coaches who are choosing to either stay put or leave the profession (whichever they feel for secure for their own situation) because it’s a little risky to saddle up in a new town not knowing if that program will still have scholarships, or they have to step in and cut a bunch of people to meet the new roster limits (immediately becoming a villain), is the program going to exist at all. So many questions. I think that’s why we see such an odd hiring cycle this year.

Zac stepped away the summer before last season started. Never coached with him, but we’ve met, he was a class act and produced fine athletes. I believe he went into a more stable profession to establish a family. Really nice guy.
