I know for a fact there are a lot of fakers here. They are not reading the thread at all, just asking drive-by questions that were already answered, sometimes on the same page. (I bet team RY is reading every page though!) Since Asher started this thread on 6/7, it has averaged a page an hour. I can't keep up! I'm only on page 127 and need some sleep.

He ran some roughly 6ish minute single miles, but they've all been followed by stops for aid. At one point he apparently strung a few miles in 6ish minute mile bursts without walking before the next burst, but he did stop at the RV for aid between each, which led to an average pace that was closer to 8 minutes per mile based on the only section of gps tracking that comes close to matching that description this morning.
Right now there are a lot more 15-20+ minute miles than fast ones. And he's been taking more/longer breaks in the middle of the night than he was before the videos surfaced. 40-50 miles of his 65 - 80 mile days were overnight before... so that's a lot of distance lost.
I'm calling bs on 6 minute miles. He's doing 7:30 minute miles in this video (according to someone who calculated it based on google earth) and it is clearly at tempo run effort. One word gasps, checking his watch constantly (for what?). This is VO2 effort, not LSD effort. There is zero chance he is knocking off 6 minute miles, even for just short bursts of a few of them. Zero.

I'm having trouble keeping up with this thread. I think I'm going to move behind thread and just try to keep pace for a while. I've got my towel and a couple of electrolyte drinks in the bucket. I'll signal you with my flashlight if I need anything else.
This is fun to follow, just to see what BS they use to get out of their jam. What I'm interested in seeing is a really good ultra runner taking the same course, but inviting a team of independent tech savvy sleuths to ride along and document every second of the journey. Now that's a great book in the making.

Wow, I've missed a bunch. First, Sorry Mr. Persson. Missed that you were using a real name back about 50 pages ago. My real point was to thank Asher for starting this great thread.
