$75 - $85k in San Francisco? LOL good luck with that. I believe the City of San Francisco has defined low-income at $65k. I suppose whoever gets that job can rent a room somewhere.

Quick google search says $104,400 is considered low income in San Fran. You gotta be one pathetic, desperate track nerd to go after that job. Living under a bridge like the rest of the city.

Whoever gets and accepts the job will probably have a plan and all the best to that individual.
For years you hear stories of coaches saying they were making breadcrumbs, couch surfing, living in their offices or team sheds. Mid-major assistant coaches are in a tough position at a lot of institutions. There are positions that are offered between $40-$60k (w/ 1 bed rooms $2,500-$4K a month for rent) and coaches are being told they can host camps or work a part time jobs for more money!!! In addition, not receive any bonus structure for their event group accomplishments or relocation fee! Professors, athletic trainers and strength coaches are going through it as well, nationwide!!!

Many that work in SF don't live in SF. Tons of people that work in SF make under $100K or they wouldn't have any workers.
I have no idea if it might be on offer for this position, but I know that in the past, some coaches have had the option of some form of on-campus housing.

The cost of living is so high in the Bay Area that people are commuting from as far away as Turlock and Modesto. Not ideal for a coach. Even if the coach rents a dump in Hayward the commute will be miserable and time consuming.

Nonsense.
I make less than 60k, and I am able to comfortable live under a tree up in the Point Reyes National Forest. My commute is long, but beautiful. Sometimes I stop in to Stinson Beach to grab a coffee and watch the surfers.

I’m well aware. I used to live that miserable life. What kind of plan are you speaking about? One where they can’t afford the basic necessities of life let alone getting out of debt, saving for the future, investing in retirement, buying a home, starting and supporting a family? Ya know like all the things you should be doing so you’re not living paycheck to paycheck for the rest of your life. Like I said, you gotta be a pathetic track nerd to be working for this money in a city like that. Move on with your life. Nobody cares about track anyway.

You can live in SF for 100k, you just have to rent. People overreact on this board so much lol.
