Is there a link to splits/tracking? This race looks nuts.
Remarkably the girls up front have run fairly consistent at about 5:52/mile, although one of the Kenyans up front has just been dropped.

Pace has picked up a little over the last few Ks
Saltpeter had closed it to 16 sec or so, but now gap's grown again. I think the top 4 picked it back up a bit rather than Saltpeter slowing down. You can see top 4 tempo has increased the past few miles.
Salpeter slowed down. Now 36s behind:(
All the Kenyans who were front running are now crashing. Japan is going come back from behind FTW.

why doesn't the commentator seem to understand that the leaders are running abreast because they all want the wind to cool them down ... have they never run in a pack in the heat?
Is Rocha ever going to give up? She has been struggling and doing long walking breaks for over half an hour by now but always keeps going and going instead of just throwing the towel.
Incredible mental strength, but there's gotta be one point in the race where enough is enough even for her.
Does anyone know what punishment the North Korean chicks will receive for not ending up on the podium?
