Somewhat interesting that Huddle no longer throws her arms up at the finish of races.

And......Wadeline Jonathas #4 Qualifier.
She’s the real deal.
Great first day for BTC other than a lackluster performance from Marielle Hall, but that’s of little consequence since she was one of only 3 with the standard. Lomong making himself the stuff of legends and all 3 women winning their heats of the 1500.
Tough day for the Bosshard training group, with the McGee DQ and Kaela Edwards (who has been injured I think?) only managing a 2:07 and failing to advance out of the first round in the 800m.
Hopefully Coburn can stay on her feet this meet!

So for all of you HSers thinking you are going pro. Please realize they just ran 8;51 in the midst of a 10k.

Someone give A. Templeton a contract.
Is he going to give pro running a shot? Is he still in Greeneville this summer training with Furman Elite?
He is still training with Gary in Greenville as he just graduated. He is planning on joining Tinman group. Not sure contract specifics status.
lopez range!! wrote:
Lopez is an a very small group with 1:45/27:30 credentials. Webb's bests were 1:43.84/27:34.72 to Lopez' 1:45.58/27:30.06. I think Said Aoita is the king of this group with 1:43.86/27:26.11. Hardly any world class 10,000 meter runners have world class 800m ability (even though at different times of their career obviously). Very impressive! Also, Lopez' performance in a championship race at Des Moines is much more impressive to me than Webb's performance at Stanford.
I've said it for years on here... Lopez' consistency and range is super impressive and he's been on his game for 12 years.
Let's go back 13 years and look at a 12 month range:
Nov 2006 - Lopez takes 4th at NCAA XC
Mar 2007 - Lopez wins 3000m indoors in 7:49, beating Solinsky 2nd, McDougal 3rd, Rupp 4th
June 2007- Lopez runs 1:45.79 and 3:37
Nov 2007 - Lopez takes 3rd at NCAA XC
And now one month in 2019 AND all were wins:
3:37, 13:25 and 27:30.

and would you look at that, a 59.90 final lap was run in that race!
Looking at the T&FN form chart for mHJ, none of the ten favored jumpers appears to have sponsorship -- six are unattached and four are still in school. Likewise the rest of the field. None has the 2.30m WCS? When did US high jumping fall so far into the toilet?
Predicted Decathlon scores based on SEASONS BESTS. I think Williams has a chance to win if he matches his lifetime bests, or betters them (which is always possible in the unpredictable decathlon), but this is based on form this year. I've left the 1500 blank for obvious reasons. However, it's worth noting that Williams and Bastien have run under 4:30 when the rest hover at around 4:40. Even so, those 10 seconds only give about a 60-some point difference.

Did you really just come here to say that? That race was devastating for her. We've all moved on.
