- climb to the top of a corrupt organization
- declare a friend under investigation innocent while presiding over the investigating organization
...
- move, as a national hero, to Monaco to save taxes
- threaten to sue people for revealing facts
- demand more transparency from others than they themselves are willing to provide
- choose an allegedly corrupt scientist in an attempt to clear their name
- blame a temperature of 30 C when the records show 21 - 24 C
- blame physically impossible hydration and, when that got refuted, faulty equipment - without any evidence.
All told, I suspect much more. Once a cheat, always a cheat.
Back to the Russians....The Shobukhova case is key, because it shows the depth of corruption at the IAAF. She has admitted to paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes, which allegedly were moved through Valentin Balakhnichev, the former head of the Russian Athletic Federation who also held the position of TREASURER at the IAAF at the same time...(how convenient)..... Bribe money was to cover up her doping test positives, which should have gotten her banned in 2011, but instead she was allowed to compete in the 2012 Olympics, where she didn\'t finish the race. Eventually, she was still banned anyway (You will all be happy to know that her ban ended on Aug. 23, 2015, so she is ready to compete again with everyone!!!.......except for that darn Russian Team Ban Problem......sorry, Liliya......), and then they decided to refund some of the bribe money, which was laundered through a company in Singapore named Black Tidings (yes, it was really named that!) which was owned by a business partner of Papa Massata Diack, the son of IAAF head Lamine Diack. The money transfers have probably been traced. Former IAAF legal adviser Habib Cisse is in big trouble. Former IAAF President Lamine Diack is under criminal investigation for corruption, taking bribes and money laundering. Dr. Gabriel Dolle, the former ANTI-DOPING DIRECTOR at the IAAF, is under criminal investigation for allegedly taking over $200,000 in bribes to cover up positive Russian doping tests......
That is a lot of WOW FACTOR CORRUPTION, if proven to be true, in my opinion (and the second Wow factor report hasn\'t even come out yet!!!)....and Lord Sebastian Coe in 8 years as vice-president at IAAF, SAW and KNEW NOTHING of what his \"spiritual leader\" Lamine Diack and his pals were up to at the IAAF.............REALLY? As the EPO test got better around 2005 a lot of athletes went back to the old style method of blood transfusion to cheat, and beat the tests for detection. Dr. Fuentes had over 200 BAGS OF BLOOD FOR BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS in his refrigerator in 2006....Isn't anyone curious which names would be on all those bags??? To this day in the year 2015, NONE of the names have been made public. The judge in Spain originally ruled that the names should not be released, and the evidence destroyed. There would be a LOT of interesting names of famous soccer players, tennis players, cyclists, and RUNNERS on the over 200 BLOOD TRANSFUSION BAGS....but you can't see them....you wouldn't be able to understand them or what their use would be...nothing to see here....back to sleep....

Gosh, you know...one of Paula's suspicious blood test results was at the 2005 World Championships...which is very close in time to the 2006 Operation Puerto case of Dr. Fuentes and the OVER 200 BAGS OF BLOOD where the NAMES ON THE BAGS have not been made public.....I sure hope none of the names on the blood bags says Paula Radcliffe.....if one did......I would imagine the pressure and tension building up now inside her would be quite intense......but nothing for her to worry about....full transparency is the way to go...Let us see the NAMES ON THE BLOOD BAGS.........should be fun!!!

Caught? Not really. No time in jail, 4 year ban. football, boxing, track and field and tennis were not discussed, blood bags destroyed, doping is not a crime in Spain.
That seems like the best possible outcome for every other sport besides cycling.

Yes, you are probably right about that, unfortunately. I am still happy that Liliya Shobukhova was finally stopped (even after the IAAF mysteriously STOPPED TESTING her), suspended for a while, and we all know the truth about her. She gets some of her bribe money back but she doesn't give back any of her race prize money obtained by fraud.... Come on, Liliya...
But Operation Puerto with the 200 blood bags and names could blow up the entire doping and coverups situation to a level never seen up till now. It was hard to understand from the article, but I read it as the judge legally ordered the bags destroyed, but WADA, UCI, CONI(Italy), and Spanish cycling have appealed the legal decision, which means the blood bags and names have not actually been physically destroyed yet, otherwise what would be the point of going to court for 9 years if the bags and/or names on the bags had already been physically destroyed. There would be no point. My understanding was that the blood bags and names STILL physically exist. That's what they are fighting in court over....Yes? or No?
If all the blood test database results and all these blood bag name results come out... a real WOW!!!...SHOCK!!!.... factor....I think we could finally begin the great clean up that is needed ....but if it all came out... the truth would be extremely painful for a lot of people......oh well........too bad for them........

Also don't forget that there was also EPO and others in those blood bags, so we are talking about more than just blood transfusions.

Fuentes' modus operandi was, as we know, not to put the actual name of the cyclist/runner/footballer on the blood bag, but rather to use a cryptic 'nickname' which would be enough for him to know to whom the blood belonged.
Nevertheless, if we see names like Rafaelito, or Bobblita, then I think we can make a reasonably educated guess at the provenance of the blood. :)

Ok, I did some more reading about Operation Puerto and Dr. Fuentes. I remember hearing about it back in 2006, and remember Tyler Hamilton being involved but I thought the blood bags were destroyed back then. So this is very good news if the names could still be revealed. Dr. Fuentes said that given a list of athlete names he could match up their code names, and offered to reveal them. It shouldn't be hard to figure out. There may be a written list somewhere, as that is a lot of code names to remember. Jan Ullrich had 9 bags of blood at the clinic that were specifically matched to Ullrich by DNA matching, which could also be done with other athletes. Dr. Fuentes was very busy....besides the 200 blood bags, and EPO, there were over 1,000 doses of anabolic steroids found at his residence....
At the time the scandal broke in 2006, IAAF President Lamine Diack assured everyone that Spanish prosecutors told him that no track and field athletes were involved. The recent 2015 banning of 2009 World Steeplechase Champion Marta Dominguez from Spain shows that statement to be false. Marta's cell phone number was found on the agenda of Dr. Fuentes with the code name "Urco", the name of her husband's dog. One of the blood bags has the name "Urco" on it, which was determined to belong to Marta Dominguez, who was directly implicated in Operation Puerto. It appears Lamine Diack has been not been telling the truth about lots of stuff for a long time....
These January reports could be explosive.....should be interesting.....
