Your facts and logic are skewed because you are more than likely one of the parents. Everyone has a right to their own opinion and I assure you that there are a lot of people on the side of BAS right now. They just don't feel the need to get on here and argue with people that will never be satisfied.

Great point. Also BAS actually did recruit Harvey while she was at Penn State, and was rejected. Harvey took the 80% scholarship at Tennesee where the souless BAS extracted her revenge -- after publicly stating that Harvey would have an immediate impact at Tennessee.

If you cut the ones with lower scholarships then you have fewer dollars sitting idle and being wasted, since the scholarship still has to be paid.

This is one of the valid points that all of you BAS Haters are not comprehending. Yes, BAS did recruit Harvey to Penn State and offered her an 80% scholarship. Penn State has a great program, but it is not on the same level as the SEC, especially when it comes to sprints and hurdles. BAS would probably not have recruited her to Tennessee and offered her a 100% (full ride) scholarship. The SEC is on a different level and the demands are different. Just because this athlete might have been a good fit for BAS at Penn State does not mean that it would be the same fit at Tennessee. Every school and every conference has different needs.

I'm sure Harvey is a great hurdler and will have a bright future, but in order to get a full ride as a sprinter in the SEC, you have to be on a different level. Penn State offered her 80%. Where are all of the other SEC schools that offered her 100%? There aren't any. The old coaching staff at UT offered her too much. Those are the facts.

Harvey already has the scholarship at Tennessee. Maybe you want to say she was offered too much, but that's not an excuse for Harvey's awful mistreatment by BAS. You can't say that the SEC is on a different level when she already is the fastest 400h on the UT team.

I don't see a lot of people supporting Alford-Sullivan at Track and Field News. They are roundly critical there. Quick, register a bunch of phony usernames and keep the illusion going.

The SEC as a whole is on a different level and UT is clearly not there at the moment like it once was. Yes, Harvey may have a faster 400h time than anyone on the current roster, but that is not saying much. The women's roster has clearly been depleted over the years and needs a complete overhaul to get it back on track.

NO, hammer-head, I was not comparing the SCALE of this situation to that of an event resulting in the annihilation of around 6 million people. I am making a note of the fact that any idiot defending BAS (assuming all or even some of her defenders here are not BAS herself) is as BEREFT OF LOGIC as a Holocaust denier. In other words, given what is known about the situation, including the fact that one of the dropped athletes was someone BAS OFFERED A SCHOLARSHIP TO HERSELF, you'd have to be as committed to a lunatic conclusion to let BAS off the hook here a a Holocaust denier. The Holocaust OBVIOUSLY was an objectively WORSE infraction against humankind, but that's not even relevant to my post.

malmo is right. It doesn't matter how ugly or sinister BAS LOOKS, she obviously IS just that sinister and ugly and worse in her behavior. You can take issue with him being petty if it makes you feel better but it's no different than observing that Kinda Trip was hellishly ugly, if you're old enough or have enough remaining brane sells to remember that name.

So let me get this straight. You're saying that to make UT's team faster, they need to start with cutting all the recruits that have times FASTER than the runners already on the team??? And let's break down this quote: "Yes, Harvey may have a faster 400h time than anyone on the current roster, but that is not saying much." That's not saying much? Ok, so how about the walk-ons who haven't scored in a championship since arriving on campus? Let's compare them to Harvey who HAD a chance at developing into an SEC scoring athlete. You're saying that a hopeful SEC scoring athlete is a waste of time for Sullivan compared to a non-scoring walk-on. I'm guessing you don't coach at a university, and, if you do, I give you a year before you're fired. And the way Sullivan is making moves right now, I'd apply for the UT job because that position should be opening up soon. I welcome anyone to come at me. I'm ready.

Yes, every school and every conference does have difference needs. But EVERY team needs athletes that can score. Seeing that Harvey has a faster time than every athlete on UT's roster in her event gives her a better chance than any of them at scoring in the SEC, does it not?

And they offered her too much? How about the other thousands of dollars they are providing to NON-SCORING ATHLETES? That money productive? No, not so far.

Plenty of things happen to athletes whose dreams don't work out the way they'd hoped.

So you have a girl on full scholarship who appears to compare closely with the bottom half of the SEC.
