i'd say the race of the day would be a tie between Wahome and Erskine. who thought either of them would have a shot to go to nationals and they were 4th and 6th?! both monster races!

anti-race of the day to MIT. harper had their only good race at all and he won't even get to go unless tufts gets in. did anyone else see how at the awards ceremony how he looked like he wanted to murder someone? a little classless, even with the shirt and tie...

Riiiiight. The guy who everyone on this thread continued to write off- but still grabs 5th place- continues to get no love? Wahome, Gisore AND Erskine (4-6th) had the biggest balls of the day. Rest of New England was shown how to run a cross country race today by these three runners. Hopefully next weekend these fellas can bring home some All-A awards. If they run like they did today a top 30 finish is not out of the realm.

I don't think the rest of New England was shown how to run an xc race today considering they didn't go 1-2-3.

Being upset that whether you get one last cross country race or not is now in the hands of the NCAA does not make one "classless." Get over yourself.

definitely thought 1-5 would be closer. i hope tufts makes it but my gut says no. bowdoin has really come on strong these past two races. Bates and MIT were surprises. With all the hype at the beginning of the season MIT underperformed. Wtf with Bates? Their two locks for to 10 fall way off and Grayboys leads them to nationals? didn't some kid say he wasn't a racer who would do anything lol. They could contend right back up with Williams and Midd at nationals. Girls race was pretty exciting too, gotta give props to the midd girls knocking of #1 williams, but Chiara is awesome. anyways, I hope we get 5, and I do believe that we should, but I have come to accept that the NCAA committee generally favors 4 from NE unless its glaringly obvious to take 5. Congrats. You must be either Schmidt, Horowitz or Rand. If you are not one of these super hyped runners (albeit, clutch runners) then you need to STFU. The three no names mentioned above still spanked the rest of the field (and most likely you and your teammates). Keep on hating.

I don't see how we could not get 5 over the atlantic region. looking objectively at the results, our #6 team MIT beat atlantic's #3 in NY, and our #4 team bates beat their #1 and #2 st lawrence and geneseo. yes because we know the region well we know that MIT and bates bombed and are probably better than 6th and 4th, but I don't think the NCAA can/should be able to take that into account, all they can do is look at who beat who and by how much.

in short, if the atlantic region gets more bids than NE the entire system is a sham

A few thoughts...

Regionals is a really tough place at which to come out of nowhere. There are always a few random 3-4-5 guys from NESCAC teams who overachieve and grab a spot on the All-Region squad, but to do what the aforementioned 4-6 guys did is really impressive. People rarely come out of nowhere to snatch a top-8. Hats off to them.

Williams is a machine. Farwell has everyone believing they can be 'the guy.' Middlebury should take notes for after Schmidt graduates.

Also, Middlebury struggled after winning NESCACs last year, finishing 4th at regionals. With a new coach (Nicole Wilkerson) this year, it appears as though the Green Mountain boys --and girls-- were well-tapered for this race. Wonder how that will affect nats.

Additionally, the Middlebury-Williams womens rivalry has always been (for the past ten years, at least) one of those rare events that proves intense, gut-wrenching competition is always worth its billing, regardless of the gender (Title IX!). It's great to see that the Williams-Middlebury men are now a formidable match, too (still too soon to call it a rivalry; Midd has to make it through the post-Schmidt doldrums first).

***fun fact: Graboys went to HS with Schmidt. Graboys is better than people thought***

Finally, for Coby Horowitz to do what he has this year is also a pretty big deal. I'm impressed with the Soph's effort on the big stage...that's not easy.

Erskine had the race of his life, kudo's to him. Their coach tapered them well.

Conn blew up HARD. I couldn't of expected them to not get top 6-8, and especially at the beginning of the season when they were "somewhat" in the mix for top 5.

As someone towards the beginning of the top 35, to watch Harper and the Wesleyan kids walk past jesus they all looked sooooo upset. No emotion from either Wesleyan kid and Harper looked as if he wanted to kill someone. Also rumor has it that MIT was crying post race in the tent? Any confirms?

Does anyone know what happened to Hannan? 5th nescac... 108th regionals and over a minute slower than he ran there first race of the season... Also Leduc? I thought he was set.

I thought Wahome and Erskine were more impressive just based on their other results from this season, this came out of nowhere! (Wahome was 4th at alliance, 38 sec behind Hoyt; Erskine was 47th at nescacs, 12th at little 3s!) Gisore had a monster race at ECACs, and if you look back a couple pages you will see that I predicted gisore to go! as in i did not "write him off" i just thought the other two had more surprising finishes

All I know is Gisore rocks the half-tights better than ANY D3 runner out there. Dude's a good looking runner (no homo).

whoa, whoa, whoa. . . They walked past Jesus? Jesus was there? God DAMNIT!. . . how'd I miss him? Was Jesus in line? Or did you have to walk by Jesus to get into line? Can someone confirm the location of Jesus?And lastly, why were they sooooo upset when they walk by Jesus? Did Jesus say something mean to them? Or was Jesus wearing something that they took offense to, like a coed naked t-shirt or a funny hat that said "You go to a NESCAC SAFETY SCHOOL"?WE DESERVE TO KNOW THESE ANSWERS!
