Last year you all said that Chico was gonna get beat by Western Washington. This year it is Alaska. It isn't happening. The crazies will carry Chico.
My predictions for top 10
most top end potential if run best race
1. Abilene
2. Adams
3. Harding
4. Chico
5. Anchorage
6. Queens
7. Western
8. Mines
9. Lowell
10. Highlands
likely finish at nationals
1. Adams
2. Abilene
3. Harding
4. Chico
5. Mines
6. Western
7. Queens
8. Lowell
9. Anchorage
10. Western Wash.
Anybody run at the UC San Diego Triton Invite last weekend? How was the course?
who the hell said western washington would beat chico? not me, not many people. the sad thing is, the only way some other west coast team can beat chico is going out and buying it (alaska's team is mostly foreign- 4 out of 5 were kenyan this past weekend).
i agree, chico will probably still win but perhaps it will be more of a race this year instead of chico blowing people out

Fairly hilly, a bit sandy, and quite narrow in some areas.
the Kearney regional is gonna be slow, tough course
It should be a good race. I see Mines has moved to #2 in Regional rankings ahead of Western bumped to #3. The RMAC Championships are this weekend. I guess we will finally see who is the toughest...as usual Adams.
Western has clearly been tougher in the past so I don't know how you can say "Adams as usual".
Sure, maybe Adams is tougher with the Western team being so young and not stacked with 4 foreigners like the Adams team but it is clear that we have seen many times that Adams was suppose to beat Western and Western has performed better in the bad conditions to crush Adams.
See 2005 in Pomona, CA when it was extremely hot and a Western team that had already lost to Adams 4 times that year beat them by 60 points.
See 2004 in Indiana/Illinois (can't remember for sure) when Western only beats Adams by 1 point at regionals but then when the rain, mud, and cold weather came Western crushed Adams at Nats with Bodor and Christiansen going 2,3.
This is not to harp on the past or make any claims about this year but just an example for the idiot that says Adams will be the toughest "as usual". Adams is actually notorious over the past 5 years (outside of last year) for not living up to the hype once the nationals race roll around.
I say all of this while also feeling pretty confident that Adams will win nats this year.
theres a difference between good and tough, it doesnt always matter how tough you are, for example, adams will still destroy western this year no matter how tough western is, adams could tempo and still win rmac and regionals
A few good years here and there are great for Western. They had it good at nationals for about 5-6 years there, but Adam's overall XC history is far superior to Western's. Sorry. Besides it takes more than one good race a year to call your self tougher. Try running a whole season. Take both men and women over all the races of all time and Adams is far tougher.
