bold statements in general. there is absolutely no way you can say drews is only 20 secs faster. in general, it seems it ends up being a minutes or more. comparing ericksens track times to hooley/kreger in cc is like apples to oranges. its why alot of people werent expecting ericksen to even be the top runner on his own team in cc. running a 25 flat at jim drews is very good, but i hope its not the most amazing thing you have seen in the miac.
one thing not mentioned yet is the condition at jim drews. the course seemed to be so wet/muddy in some portions that it was definitely effecting some times.
You have to give Ericksen a little more credit than even his 25 flat shows. The course could have been 20 to 30 seconds slower than most years
Not saying Ericksen will break 2530 at conference (not sure if he will have anyone pushing him) but drews' conditions need to be taken into account.
I think they were saying that greeno should have placed higher, since he beat all those point guys at olaf earlier in the year..and i did see the finish between sigl and erichson. Sigl basically just ran away from him starting with a maybe 800 meters to a k or so before the finish. Nothing too exciting, not like the womens race. I think even sigl held back a bit, i think he has some more in him that we have not seen yet...I think if he were running at osh kosh, which he will be for conference and regions, he would break 24. Especially since butzler ran 24:01. If there's good weather there in two or even 4 weeks, expect a wicked fast time.
I was surprised with st thomas's team results. I think they are starting to come around and might surprise some teams at conference. I'm going to go ahead and call a surprise at conference as i think they will be 3rd or possibly 4th, depeding on how hamline does. Top two are locked up between sju and carleton obviously. I think MAC will be 5h followed by st olaf
I wouldn't say that the top two are locked up. It is obvious that SJU is the team to beat but they aren't nearly as good as they think or as we all think. There 4th and 5th are not as solid as they were up at the SJU invite. I also think that 2nd is open. While Carelton is goood I also think that Mac, Hamline(depends which one shows up) and St. Thomas are in the run for it second.
true true, and you gotta potentially throw boumeester and atzinger in the mix for all conference. I don't think wegman will get it. I think van bruggen will be top 20 for sure..he will keep getting stronger and he'll be back by regions time to help his team go to nats.
it's not even worth trying to compare courses to each other. Conditions will be different on every course, so it's really petty getting into arguments about how fast someone is going to run on the miac course. All that matters is the place you finish.

I agree, I feel embarassed for you guys in the MIAC, all you do is down grade each other and then even go on to the WIAC page (which is actually civilized) and claim that your conference is better. Are you guys really that insecure about where you go to college??
no one was really bashing, it was a prediction thread. The only team that gets bashed is UST. ANyways i predict that the csb girls along with borner and theisen would be rated among the hottest girls in the miac if we took a poll..
I do have to agree though with that. In the WIAC everyone respects each other a lot more and don't come on there just looking to stir up stuff by claiming you are better. We both know that its not true, although the MIAC is getting better and is better than a lot of other conferences out there.
