If the second to last lap isn’t a 63 he’ll have a much better chance. Ironically it was probably partially his fault cole was in a position to win, just like last year

Plenty of excellent runners have had rough injury plagued seasons and have ended up bouncing back the next. Jakob looked solid aerobically today. It was good to see him taking the lead with a mile to go, even though we all knew it had a slim chance of winning. Seems like he just doesn’t have the legs for a change of pace at all right now, which was about expected. Not a problem that will continue into next season if he stays healthy though.
Jakob in shape makes the 2 laps before the last so hard that a 52 is not needed. The last 1k was 2.26 here so about 5 seconds slower than Jakob often makes it.
