But I didn’t think we had any differences anymore. We both had agreed that Omicron ended the pandemic - something the vaccines failed to do even though they had been out for over a year.

I don't know what, specifically, the author is referring to when he says Fauci used GOF language in private. He provides no link. If it's an email, then yes, it's clear cut. If it's a witness, then it would depend on whether a jury would think the witness was trustworthy.
REGARDLESS, we need hearings followed by indictments. IF GOF research was done (likely) and IF that research was on SARS-CoV-2 (possible), and IF that virus escaped from Wuhan lab (more likely than not), then we are looking at culpability in the greatest medical crime against humanity in the history of the world. Seven million have died from Covid, more from reduced health after Covid, and more from the vaccine and lockdowns. That would rank Covid as higher than Pol Pot and just below Tojo and Hitler.
We must have a bipartisan investigation to find the truth.
