There's a lot more distinctions than that. There must be thousands of independent witnesses to the existence of George Washington who corroborated that fact in contemporaneous writings. Newspaper articles, official documents, deeds, diary accounts, letters, roll call at meetings, endless stuff. It would be impossible for them to all be wrong (or lying) about Washington's very existence.
But my understanding is that there are no known witnesses to Jesus' existence who have contemporaneously written about it, but rather the accounts of 3 or 4 people (authors of New Testament books) who never saw or met Jesus themselves, but allege that others did and were first-hand witnesses to various events. "I didn't, but I heard some guy did." That's a huge difference to this disingenuous Washington analogy.

Genesis was written in 1400 BC by Samuel. Revelation was written in 90 AD by John. Bible in today’s form was complied in 300 AD with the convention of Rome by Catholic Church. How do we know the Lord God decided to stop talking to people since then?
