Say he gets to 850km for 6 days, puts him in the top 50 all time for 6 days
Better than I’d expected, obviously not on track for any WR but still it’s 850km in 6 days
I hope you all learned your lesson that you don't have to be homely and decrepit to be an ultrarunner. Nedd is a good runner, not the best in the world but still good.
Stop fawning. He is an ok ultra runner. This is not a distance nor format that ultra runners commonly dabble in. You could try other random distances/days and also find something that makes you a top 50
Take part in a race over a competitive popular distance, and I will support you
You’re still missing the point mate. It’s called marketing and it’s working. Right place, right time and he’s going to do well out of this whatever happens now plus he’s raised millions for charity which is probably more than any of your ultra heroes ever did so good luck to him I say.

In the same way convicted fraud Belle Gibson was 'just marketing'. Same same
Good question. Does anyone know. It is not anything I recognise. It would be an extreemely expensive exercise for a professional timer.
I would have given Will Cockerell a lawn chair and a stopwatch and told him to count. It's the only timing system you guys will accept.
Stop being sarcastic and antagonistic and perhaps others will engage with you.
It is a simple question. What timing devices are being used?
And if it was a big independent mob, they would have it tracking live on the web with actual race distances even with the different lap measurements. Its easy.

There would be no need to update only after a BS 'master lap'. It would automatically add the distance of last expected lap after each crossing. Dead easy , that is the definition of 'live timing'.

These are the guys doing it - not sure the specific tracker they’re using. I assume they’ll publish it all at the end on their website. They’ve been doing Strava uploads off the tracker data
Great. They look like they know what they are doing. Very interesting that of all the events they do, this one does not go per their name, i.e. its not 'live', yet would be easier than most of their events, if not the easiest. No need for GPS even
The donation goes straight to Mobilise, it doesn’t go to him. His endorsements pay him very well already. The irony in this chat is hilarious. Never raised millions for charity so question it. Timing beyond a stopwatch and the occasional sighting never existed in your day yet you guys are calling out the timing system
Thanks for this info . I wish he had done a short vid explaining this. On instagram it just sounded like he was only going to record the lap time when he ran in lane 1 then devide it between all the laps if that makes sense. Seeing the way he's deteriorating it looks 100% legitimate .
I had considered that part of his fame may come from the controversy or people chatting about how and why so maby it was his intention to present it like this

But, as I said, why wait on them to tell you another master lap done, pleasde register it and publish to Strava. When you claim to have an active timing chip on your ankle, which can automatically add 405m, 410m etc (just guessing on distances) each time the chip passes mat and send it live to the net. This from a timing mob that publishes much more difficult to measure stuff live.
Why have that doubt? The doubt is not created by boomers, it is created by them. You apparently engaged Trackmelive to do it 'live', but it appears they are updating a master lap everytime you tell them one is completed?? make sense to you? ok here is a harbour bridge for you cheap.
If Trackmelive were doing this job for 250hrs, it would be a huge expense, which I'm sure can come from donations, but if it isn't published live by them, it isn't actually being timed live.

Rusty, I can assure you whether it was a casio a calendar, it wasn't done 'fat ass' way and it was done under auspices of some governing body. I heard a story of one guy that was suspecetd of swapping with his wife, wearing same track suit. The RD went ahead and sat in a tree for hours waiting for them to come past. This was in Syd-Mel, maybe trans con expert knows about it.
Point is , you make a claim, an outlandish one to gain some charity $$ and lots more for you through endorsements, lets face that. Then you should subject yourself to scrutiny of a race, a governing body etc, or cop the flak you get on the net, whether from Casio wearing boomers or whatever.
Don't come with the 'this is social media era' and this is the way we do it.

Add 7.5m per lane. Eg lane 2 is 407.5, lane 6 is 437.5
Time his lap, divide by the distance, multiply by 1,000m and you get the km pace for that lap.
That image of an ultra runner died quite some time ago . There's kids running 24hour 100 mile runs . Granted not many but they are out there . And other runners like Sam harvey producing world class runs in their 20s.
