That said, even the worst of the grey area stuff with TUEs (which Spencer hilariously decried right after his SO failed a drug test because she didn't get a TUE--the people he was criticizing in that video were being responsible and doing what Allie now says she should've done. The irony on that one is off the charts)
which video was this?
Posted one week before her failed drug test, and presumably after she started using the banned drug she failed to get a TUE for.

Tbh, doping here is totally plausible. She’s an oft injured runner, who’s drifted far from her peak, with new pressures of a sponsor, in addition to the pressures of trying to perform to maintain her social following. Is it that far of a stretch to say she’d be looking for any “added assistance” to get back to where she was?
This happens ALL the time in the major sports, where athletes coming back from injury or surgery are looking for an edge to get back on the field and save their career.
She’s gone from making a living running, to likely not. The financial incentive to do whatever she can to get back above the hump certainly exists.

I don't know about that. I think the running YouTube probably pays better than most shoe contracts and certainly the shoe contract she had with Brooks at the beginning of her career. I mean Seth DeMoor was able to retire at 38!

You "think" the running youtube pays more? This isn't 2015 anymore.
She has ~35k subscribers. In reality that nets you $500 - $700 bucks a month if you have a channel that's in a high paying niche (which changes year over year depending on the algorithm).
In terms of timing - didn't she win money for placing 2nd at Carlsbad 5000? That was on April 2, 2023 just a few days after her positive test on March 30, 2023? Does she have to give that prize money back? What happens with the results from that race?

Really raises the question again if Allie was using the masking agent to cover up steroid use for that race and during training.

If she was actually honest and transparent she would announce that the prize money was given back and her 2nd place in the race should be expunged and given to the rightful - 2nd placer. Why has she not announced that if she is truly honest and transparent? Something is amiss in Ostrander-land.
That was her best run in a while too. Very interesting timing.
Definitely just a coincidence i'm sure, indeed. Can we get Sage Canaday in here to verify the timing of this coincidence? Or does she not fit the mold Sage.

From the press release:
"In addition, Ostrander has been disqualified from any competitive results obtained on and subsequent to March 30, 2023, the date her positive sample was collected, including forfeiture of any medals, points and prizes."
Not a trick question, what do you think happened if the race was April 2?
Coming over here from Spencer's thread and wow did that video not age well! I think like most on here I'm pretty doubtful Allie did anything other than make a big mistake not getting that TUE but there is definitely something that just doesn't smell right about the whole fallout. It's also pretty funny to me how both Spencer and Allie talk about bringing attention to uncomfortable topics in the running world but then bend over backwards to avoid having the real uncomfortable conversations or control their own narratives by scrubbing comments.

You tell us, why is she still listed as coming in 2nd on the official results page? It's been 4 months.

She also has a video from April 24th in which she states that she had been preparing for the US mountain running Championships, taking place April 29-30th, but that she had been struggling with an injury for 2 prior weeks. Would she have even been eligible to race at US Mountain Running Championships following her positive test on March 30th, or was the decision still in limbo? Seems like the injury was a possible cover for why she couldn't race?

I don't know why two people would downvote you for this question. I guess Spencer and Allie are both on damage control.

Sage just raced 100mi/30k ft vert, some on snow (and came 12th! nice comeback for him in an elite race), so he's a bit occupied, but his tweets over the years are consistent with specifying lifetime bans for hard PEDs like EPO. I do think many are being way too forgiving with Allie because of her well-documented struggles. There shouldn't be any sympathy here and she should consider herself lucky if major trail races allow her to compete given the trail push to ban for any prior convictions
I don't know if she used something other than a masking agent, but I've seen enough in here on her YouTube and Spencer's YouTube videos to make me think she should be viewed as more culpable than just an accidental use. And I honestly used to really like Allie and was excited for her future in trail races.
She said she has been tested 16 times in the past 2 years. So, she knew before she got the acne cream that she would be likely be tested. She went to an online pharmacist. She said she googled the cream. At least one other went to an online pharmacist and got the same masking agent at the same time.
We know by using google or bing that if you also google it, you'll see it's banned. Not only that, but we know that she knows how to check the medication database. We know that she was either rejected from a TUE or didn't request one and proceeded to use it.
We know that during this time she was getting sponsorships and running races. Not just big-name shoe company sponsorships but also YouTube deals. She did fairly well in the Carlsbad race and won money. Nnormal spent money to take her and Spencer to Europe for a little vacation. She was planning on running Sierre Zinal. She claimed she had an injury before it was made public that she tested positive.
I think it's good that Sage offered his opinion earlier because he didn't have to do so and he was just about to race at one of the UTMB races. He did very well at that race so congrats. But I think with further reflection, at least I hope, that he will change his mind a little in this case.
Allie was either so reckless in doing this that she was hoping to be caught or she thought she could get a TUE and do something nefarious. When that didn't happen, she kept going with her plan hoping she wouldn't be caught. Once she was caught, she continued a grift until it became public knowledge. Then she posted a video about it and is hoping people will say "well she just had acne problems and was careless but that goes with her character and she's a good person otherwise."

Yeah, but IF she were doping, why choose a masking agent that would negate the PED? I don't buy the "she pretended to have an acne problem to get a 'scrip for a detectable diuretic to hide taking steroids" line of thought. If she were such a doping mastermind, you'd think she'd take a masking agent that didn't have negative performance effects.

The really crazy part is spironolactone reduces testosterone so dramatically that it is used by women with PCOS or are transgender.

Would really love to know if she returned the prize money or kept it. If she kept it then she is just a hack cheater with no integrity whatsoever. Hey Allie! Did you return the prize money? What happened to your honesty and transparency?!? You were just jerking us around?

It doesn't negate the PED. I'm not saying she was using steroids, or any other PED (spironlactone is not just a masking agent for steroids), but do you think a body builder who used steroids would lose all of the strength gains and muscle mass they obtained by training while using steroids if they took a masking agent for a few days before a competition? It doesn't work that way. Masking agents don't magically take away the effects of the PED. Also, if you think Spironlactone will decrease natural testosterone production, what do you think happens when people take steroids? As an example, take Anadrol for a bit and your own testosterone production comes to a dead stop. Are you going to make the equally idiotic argument "why would anyone take Anadrol, it stops their testosterone production"? It's why they need to cycle. I'll also just add that the reason people call for lifetime bans is that the benefits gained by using steroids last potentially decades (see the study by the University of Olso).
Again, I'm not saying she did use a PED, but people spouting out crazy misinformation about why someone would use a masking agent to defend her makes her seem more guilty. Don't do that. Just stick to the simple "forgot to get a TUE" story.
