Did you get an answer from them on this? Seems like a pretty significant issue with the mods.
I agree it is significant, but I have seen no response. I’m just happy if moderators don’t delete posts on this thread, which is supposed to be a place specifically allowed by the brothers to discuss moderation.
So what is the next step Mikeh? We’ve received lots of complaints today from folks regarding the moderators. What is the next step to ensure these concerns are reviewed?

Next steps? I have no idea, and I don’t think it’s my job. The brothers get to run the site. I mean, people have been complaining about the moderation constantly for well over a year. LRC is not nearly as welcoming to weird or provocative ideas, or harmless kidding around, as it once was. I got tired of posting responses on threads that disappeared. I assume the brothers are happy with this state of affairs. I have no idea why. But their vote is the only one that counts.
I suggest not worrying too much about it. It’s just a running website. I had a lot of fun here for awhile, with a lot interesting and provocative discussions. Because of that, the sudden censorship prompted me to start this thread and send a few emails to bring this to the brothers attention. I did that, and they evidently don’t agree. That’s life. God is good.

The BroJo's need to thank ALL of the current mods for their faithful service and then relieve all of them of their duties. Then, they need to work with the developer to 1) be able to keep track of their mods and see who is doing what, so that their activities can be monitored every so often.
Then, the BroJo's can acquire an all new volunteer staff. This would be easy. They'd cover their needs within an hour.
I would happily serve as a mod for a term. I would commit to know exactly what their posted rules are (in fact, I already do), and then if anyone egregiously broke one of the rules, I would correct or delete it. If anyone asked, I would easily be able to explain why a comment was amended. It would be obvious to all. Other than that, it would be anything goes. If all the mods did likewise (which they should), then I think we would make it back to the good ole' days of LRC.
I don’t see any comments from admins in this thread in the last 5 months. Just a list of concerns and deleted posts. Has this thread become a place for us to complain into the void?

Ha! A mod just removed a harmless thread where someone was wondering what percentage of posters here are genuine vs playing a character. Unbelievable. What was wrong with that?
No, “the truth”, they were not on topic. The lost Titanic submersible is not about your Bell Curve adoration.
If we’re going to delete posts simply for not being 100% in line with the OP, we might as well get rid of the discussion form all together. There can be absolutely no useful or interesting discussion if that is the policy.

Cool story.
I never said that every single post needs to be 100% in line with the OP.

Probably nothing at all. Some moderator just thought “I don’t like it” or “that’s dumb” and decided on their own to get rid of it. Doesn’t matter that someone actually spent time and energy posting it and writing responses. Doesn’t matter that it probably hurts letsrun in the Google algorithm, because threads and posts keep disappearing without explanation. There is no accountability. The moderators run the site. That’s why this board isn’t so much fun anymore.
