it's broadly true that the R party is becoming the party of the blue collar worker and the Ds are becoming the party of the college educated.
This is not really debatable, from what I understand. The ground is shifting under our feet.
The thing is, there are two issues:
1/ Rs continue to be the party of 'give rich people more money, take health care away from poor people
but
2/ Rs have become the fighters against snooty coastal elitist culture stuff. For many voters, they care more about this stuff than the 'make rich people richer' thing. And most people are happy with their health care anyway.
