I posted on another thread that he'd medal. No way did I think it would be gold but what a racer! After Tokyo, he felt he wasn't strong enough so he focussed on 5k training and competing in XC in the winter. He didn't win, but he built his base. Covid ruined his indoor season but his first 1500 outdoors was 3:32 for the win in Rabat. This was on the cards. A total baller to go past Jakob on the turn and hold it
Both Kenyans faded to finish outside the top 5. Did Kipsang think he could pace the field and still win? Happy for Katir too. He's taken so much cr*p from trolls here.
Really don’t understand wtf Thompson was doing. I mean cmon dude. I understand top 3 is probably a long shot, but why not just go for it and see what happens? Embarrassing to be in last place by 3 seconds at the 800m point.
That’s all Thompson had left - he just ran within a half second of his PB twice in about 48 hours. I am sure he would have loved to maintain contact.
I read so much about Jakob Ingebrigtsen on Letsrun I was expecting Bolt like dominance. In one of the threads someone was saying that he was the best runner he/she had ever seen.
It looked like his early positioning wasn’t ideal. Still ran 3:29, not much faster to possibly go. Wouldn’t call it a bad run. Wightman and Romo ran OUT OF THEIR MINDS tonight. Katir shockingly back to 2021 form.
