I was thinking more of the effect of a Mondo surface vs wood! I'd say 3:46.5-47ish. Coghlan's run might be one of the top ten all time just because of the 11 laps and being a wood surface!

Reports coming out that measurement was off by almost a full meter.

I was puzzled how any serious shot measurement could be possible in the first place but knowing nothing about it, I trusted that there as an accepted procedure...

I saw it and I thought he would be DQed. Then I felt like it might have messed his head up. He went back out and then dropped down at the right spot . I don't know the rules but , regardless, it broke his momentum.

Yeah - For sure! He was totally in the wrong lane for like 20+ meters and then was like "Oh Snap!"

And the official just gave him a sympathy look-away, I guess.

This coverage is one reason why no one watches Track and Field. Athing Mu steps off and we hear NOTHING from the announcers during the race. They only mention it when the results come up. Mu running the mile is arguably the biggest story of the Millrose Games and they just ignored her DNF. I was watching the TV on the last lap thinking, "WHERE'S MU??!" And they tell us nothing.

Then, Nick Willis is going for sub-4. You'd think they'd go split screen or at least give Willis' splits so we could have some suspense. Instead, we see the winner walking around while Willis is still on the track making history.

I really don’t understand why so many of the LRC’ers and general fans were so high on Hocker for the 3k. Obviously he’s an amazing miler, but that is exactly it - he’s an amazing MILER and just decent at the longer stuff. Of course his kick won’t be the same at the end of a 3k.

Also I know we’re not supposed to talk about weight, but it was clear that Kerr is simply not in his championship season racing weight. And right now, that is totally fine. I’m actually really impressed with how he ran considering his current form, and if anything it shows how dumb fast he’s gonna be when the big races come around. I’m sure he knows this.

I like how the mile races covered the runners up front, and not the people in back.

For S. Coe's reputation, it is good he didn't race 800m any faster. S. Coe, even if he would have been able to race 800m faster in a 65F summer European meaningless race, S. Coe still would not have earned Olympic or World Championship 800m gold under any scenario. S. Coe would still have two European Championship 800m losses. You are not making S. Coe look better, more pathetic actually.
