The mRNA contains isolated viral spike proteins which mimic the spike proteins on an active covid-19 virus, but no actual virus is contained in the vaccine. The immune system sees these spike proteins as foreign invaders, triggering an immune response. Antibodies in the shape of the spike proteins are created. As a result, when later exposed to the virus, the antibodies respond by attaching the the spike proteins on the actual virus. This serves to both prevent infection and prevent severity. However, if a large number of unvaccinated people transmit the virus, the likelihood of a random viral mutation that creases vaccine efficacy is very high. In the case of Omicron, this is an extremely high transmissibility. But other possible mutations could be a conformational change in the spike proteins, rendering antibodies useless and requiring a new vaccine. You are correct. Human coronaviruses tend follow a mutation pathway that decreases the severity of the virus. But this is not a given and is not always the case. The Omicron variant is still capable of killing those under the age of 60, and it has. The vaccine is the best way to prevent the spread of the disease, and it comes with no risk.

Viruses, like all things, evolve (are selected) to be more fit. This is a combination of incubation time, viral load, infection duration, transmissibility, etc.

In some cases this ends up increasing viral load or severity and in other cases it decreases it. There is no rule. You need to understand evolution, selective pressure, and fitness at a ~AP Biology level before you can discuss such matters.

But now that over 50% of the country has received at least 1 dose, the data speaks for itself. And you still haven’t responded to the data I listed about the efficacy of the vaccine and the importance that everyone receive the vaccine. Still waiting on that response.

I didn't claim more people agreed with me I said liberals were stupid. They are.

Being anti-mandate doesn't mean you have to be an anti-vaxxer.

I'm vaccinated. I will be in a bell tower before anyone forces my children to be vaccinated. The data shows that the vaccine is literally more dangerous to a healthy child than COVID is. It is virtue signaling insanity to force healthy children to put themselves at greater risk by being vaccinated against a virus that will not hurt them.
