Anyone have a map of this course Rupp ran on?

Was it point to point?

Hall never medaled in the Olympics though, Rupp did. Hall still ran faster in the M/HM, and without the shoe technology, but I'd bet that Rupp was in shape to run 2:04 or better / 59:0x or better in August of 2016. He beat almost everyone in the Rio Marathon field, and the people he beat were definitely capable of times faster than Hall ever ran.

If you meant that Hall at his best is better than Rupp now, I'd agree in terms of times. A 59:43 essentially solo is far better than a 60:22 with pacers and better shoes. I think that 2016 Rupp would have crushed Hall at his peak in any race though.

I think more people are fans of Rupp than you might imagine from this thread, given that at least several pro-Rupp posts - including mine - have been deleted.

What did the post of yours that was deleted say? There has to be more to this than just saying something pro-Rupp...

Also great for Rupp that he'd have the second fastest HM in the UK this year with that time, or third if you're counting Farah's en route time during his hour record

Maybe Fauble could go 2m faster if he shaved that stupid pornstar mustache off his face and stopped posting about burritos... The guy wrote a book about being top 10 at Boston but the truth is he didn't even podium at the HM were he PB'd. Not a good look for him, NAZ or HOKA.

After reading that this race was Rupp's idea, and his training has been targeted for a fast half, I've got to revise my prediction. 59:21, new AR.

Should've stuck with my original prediction - essentially spot on. All in all a pretty good showing, but confirms what most of us already knew - Galen is more than capable of 59:30ish, but he's going to have to get into a fast race (outside of the US, unless he runs Houston) in order to take down Hall's record.
