What retirements do we anticipate are on the horizon? Nevada already announced, NAU is moving on to pro coaching. Is this the year of the mass exodus for coaches who extended contracts after COVID?
What in the world is the University of Idaho doing?
It is September 17th and haven't heard anything about who the head coach will be.
As an alum, this is bonkers and concerning.
Anyone have any insight?

Their athletic trainer is probably driving them to local races. Their compliance guy is probably entering them in those races. The weight lifting guy is probably writing their training. And the sports info guy is probably the guy who gets dragged into meetings with "recruits" that show up on campus unannounced "looking for the track coaches." Viola, sport sponsored to the level that Idaho and most universities care about their programs.
Haven’t heard anything about a Throws coach either. Lots of positions to fill
Who did Temple hire?
Several that would jump at that opportunity I would imagine.
The current Idaho admin don't care enough about track to bother to try to bring back top assistant who left week before Tim resigned for first head job in Colorado. Knew he wanted UI job but decided to have national seatch. Loyalty long gone in current D1 sports & the admin is learning their low salaries will get them few attractive candidates. Sucks for the athletes.

Hello, thank you for your concern. You are correct in some ways but missing key details. The trainer is driving athletes to races, but making them run home if their performance is miserable--sort of job security for the AT to keep treating their overuse injuries. The compliance guy is entering them in competitions, but he's also secretly doing loads of cocaine so their predicted times are wildly inaccurate or humanly impossible. The weight lifting guy has been writing training which includes a lot of runs with weighted vests and chanting "STAY HARD" throughout the raining sessions. Idaho is overwhelmed with recruits showing up unannounced daily. Unfortunately, it's too much for the sports info guy to handle. Idaho is missing out on loads of top tier talent who happen to be passing through Moscow. Make it a great day!

I can tell you I got contacted as a reference for someone on this. I’m biased of course, but I think it’s a great candidate (even though these forums would be all sad bc it’s a current p4 throws guy haha). I’m not certain he’d actually move-on if offered bc of the time frame, but if others as qualified as him are also getting interviewed then they have a very good pool to choose from.
