I like discourse and I am fascinated by the short-sightedness of Trumpers. I am more fascinated that most have not really thought their position through. Those blasting globalism for example... I’m amazed they haven’t stopped to consider that it’s the core connectivity and dependencies rooted in globalization that has kept major conflicts in check since WW2. Take UN, it is a purely bureaucratic body.. most trumpers think it should be eliminated for having no value. Yet it’s hard to argue it has served as a mechanism to buffer all sorts of potentially disastrous outcomes. We can complain about these globalists and their bureaucracy all we want but that all has been a tiny price to pay for enduring peace.

This is a North Korean nothing burger. Our scientists already know that their nuclear program was already defunct. There were some fairly large earthquakes in the region following tests, that seismologists believe destabilized the mountain and caused catastrophic damage to their facility. The nuke program was their last ditch effort at coming to the play at the big boys table, without it, they have no choice by to seek peace treaties. The sanctions worked because their program is done, and they don't have the resources to start it back up again. So they are using it as a bargaining chip.
