In all of this who cares commentary, one thing to remember: there is a big difference between D1 Power 4 --> other D1 FBS --> D1 FCS budgets.
A school like Idaho only had total revenues of <6M in '22-23. They had a budget of ~3x that due to money from what looks like student tuition, Student Fees, etc. Their entire MTFXC budget was $319k and WTFXC was #319k. It is just a different world
Brandon Olden hired as assistant coach at EKU to replace Peterson to Iowa state. Recent Tennessee grad who should have made ncaas this spring before a rough fall, hopefully good for the program. Interesting to see how that goes, top end EKU has always been able to rise to the occasion in steeple lately (Jaziri, Abouzouhir) but their cross season last year definitely ended on a dud
To say this, you must not know DWest. Betray the guy he worked for? You clearly have the wrong information. Not even his personality to do that. Also, I can assume you are referring to Avery since he was fired. The rumor in the college world was that Avery was already out due to his own doing. This was common knowledge before DWest even took the job and was warned not to due to the risk. Why would he want his boss to get fired when he wanted to stay at UCLA? A new Director coming in would have meant his job was at risk. He wanted to settle in LA and his wife followed him there to do so. Avery getting fired was not in Dwest’s best interest. Try again…
Well they definitely didn't go after any great coaches. Back to the all sub par UCLA
You gotta pay double what UCLA paying for "great coaches" (let's say the level of coaches the SEC is paying for). They got who their administration wanted/paid for. Not the coaches' or the director's fault.
