Looks to me the current WR for road 100mi is Yiannis Kouros ( GRE ) at 11:46:37. That's just over 7 min/mi pace. He needs more than just Guiness Book out there, Dayum.

OK then, the world best for road 100 km (pretty close to 70 miles) is 6:13:33, or 5:18 pace. If this RY guy ran 70 miles just under 6 min pace DURING a multi-day (MANY multi-day) run, then wow. I mean, c'mon.

Laz's updates are what happens when you take someone who is already eccentric (and revels in his eccentricity) and then add chronic smoking. Smoking thins out a person's cerebral cortex (the part of the brain responsible for critical cognitive functions, like language, perception, memory, etc.). I don't find his writing beautiful or poetic; rather it is much closer to the ramblings of an alcoholic who has spent far too many years only concerned with his own opinion on things.
Still, he's the only one willing to go out there, so you get what you pay for.

Agreed, I'm currently at the white board with a few boffins trying to sketch out all of the key events and evidence:
Original video footage - thank god for LRC fanatics
CCTV footage - backsup original footage
Missing GPS data - why not provided?
New CCTV footage - that guy look like a runner?
Backstory - false claims on times - can they be verified?
Who has now joined Rob's crew? Laz (aka Gary)
Pace dropped to walking at times - expected? Laz says running some 'fast' miles at 6:XX but is this just for show?
Tom Tom data - what is this showing? How much actually revealed?
Backstory on Rob's crew - anyone checked these guys out?
Is he still on for record as of now?
Potential health & safety issues now? Is this now a step too far for him?

I DO understand that. I do not believe for a second that he is legit. I have not read every page if this thread, but in what I have read I haven't seen any mention of his pace in relation to the WR.
Just smirking a bit through my fingers is all.

At this point, that's the only question that really matters. His pace and times are believable now, but they weren't before. And we don't have the only data that could possibly help him, even though he's been using his TomTom.
Seems like the only way to reach Laz is by phone. So if someone has his phone number, can they ask him to press Rob on the data (not that I think Laz is the best person to take the lead on a technical issue)?

What about a 65 mile run in the next 24 hours after your break? (6/13 -6/14)
It shouldn't be that difficult for you since you have done a lot more over the last couple of weeks and at your no sleep run:

You did 70.4 miles/day in the first 22 days of your Transcon attempt.
80.3 miles on June 20th alone
102 miles per day at your 373.75 miles (601.49 km) 88 hrs 17 mins without sleep run
While one 65 mile day would not verify your whole Trans Continental run of course but it would show us that you can run 65 miles.
This would help quite a bit.

That's pretty ridiculous actually, and I'm on your side. What you are asking for will not achieve anything and even if all his previous times were legit he would likely be too tired to pull it off again.
