A disappointing day for both Clark (DNF'd) and Floberg (2:32:45) at Mckirdy.
If Floberg is honest with himself he shouldn't consider it a disappointing day. His buildup didn't indicate 2:29 was feasible. So to take it out a bit aggressive given his fitness level and still manage a PR is a solid result.
I would trust Parkes for a good shoe review over all the other shoetubers. BIITR and KOnfuzi are the wurst. You'll trust someone more who has a similar body style as you.

It's crazy how many people love SJD's shoe reviews and he probably weighs less than the average 6th grader these days. Then you see the pictures from his meetups and no one is within 100lbs of the guy.
Always easy to explain things after the fact. But if he's running his workouts too hard, then 5:43 probably isn't his MP. I was kinda just trusting him when he said he was fitter, having his best workouts, etc, and that McKirdy would be a good situation to PR.
Looks like he may have fell off the pack at mile 17, made a valiant effort to stay connected miles 18-19, but by 20 his fate was sealed. Must've been a tough last 10k to keep his pace decent and still snag a PR even once the sub 2:30 dream was dead. I respect that.
And even though it was maybe a bit warmer than ideal, if he fell off the pace at mile 17 that'd only be just after 8:30am -- I don't think the weather can really be blamed. Anyway, looking forward to his side of the story.
Sub 2:25 series incoming even tho he didn’t break 2:30 lol
Floberg constantly shows utter contempt for the difficulties of the marathon distance. He was a poor trainer who made big gains simply by upping milage and being consistent. He doesn't understand this.
Thinking he can knock 5 mins off a PB in 8/9 weeks of training when he's around the 2:35 mark shows a lack of respect and knowledge.
He also has no idea what marathon effort is. Any seasoned runner, and he has ran a lot of marathons, should know what marathon effort is during the training block. He clearly doesn't know. He runs marathon pace but probably at threshold and thinks this is what he needs.
Let's see how long he keeps "going one more" and "loving the running community" when he realises that running 80 mile weeks for 18 weeks will only be good enough for 1 min PRs each marathon.
Fair play to Bester and Fox, they kept grinding away for years looking for 30 seconds or so. Floberg doesn't have the staying power now is 5/10 min PRs are gone
You really overestimate Kofuzi's worth and how low he will go. There is no need to pay the man $25k. Who would even offer this? Give him a free trip to Morocco and he's yours. People on this thread really think highly of these YouTubers. They ain't making $25k for one vid that gets a few thousand views. Get real

He's definitely getting paid. He's got an agent and video editor, among other expenses, including income taxes. Absolutely no way he's doing it for merch, free trips and YouTube ad revenue alone.
I'm be amazed converting 1% of the viewers at this price point. Just 1% of people clicking through to look at the Race2Adventure website would be a good result. They probably write the cost off as brand awareness
If you're going to call people out on ethics, maybe don't lie about their videos. He does not call the Novablast 5 the shoe of the year. In his comparison section he says the Rebel V4 was his trainer of the year last year and the Evo SL will probably be this year. He recommends both of them ahead of the Novablast.
But I guess that doesn't fit the narrative here...

I mean marketers shouldn't pay Kofuzi a dime. That doesn't mean they aren't however.

Actually his shoe of the year the past two years was the Puma Deviate. I guess Puma must've paid a lot for that free trip to Jamaica!
