So Loyola hired Gavin Kennedy and now they only have 4 woke distance coaches on staff with 2 females without any real coaching experience. Diverted all scholarship money into distance effectively effin’ up every other event student athlete experience at Loyola. Not even sure if it’s legal but hey, good luck with that!
Unnecessary at best if the HC would be half of the coach he pretends he is, yet you have distance fan boys here seeing nothing wrong with the move and bringing team models like Florida into discussion as an argument. Yet, a glimpse over Florida tfrrs will tell that they still have better distance runners then most these pathetic fully sponsored With track team money, All distance teams.
Isn't weird how these non distance “sprints programs” still give the world more distance star power then the all-distance teams ? When is the last time you saw a distance star rising from an only distance school?
Isn’t weird that despite other teams finishing top 10 or better at the NCAA championship with just throwers , or just jumpers, etc, You still never see a team go All throws or All jumps with their resources , scholarships and coaches?

True portion of your post: Gavin has hired a bunch of inexperienced coaches and diverted all scholarships to distance. However when has Loyola ever been known to be a dominant sprinter/thrower/jumper school?
False portion: Schools that do that aren't succesful? Have you heard of NAU, or Iona of the past or Furman?
It may seem strange that he brought inexperienced people on board with him until you look at his background. He doesn't want or need experienced coaches joining him. He is emulating Mick Byrne who took him in at Iona when he had no experience. Mick Byrne can look around the NCAA and see products of his tutelage at every turn. Gavin will turn Loyola into the Iona of the midwest, coach there for 10 years, have a greased up foreign pipeline until a head coaching position at an established school opens up for him to ride into the sunset on a good career.

You would in a hurry if there were a fall season for a separate sport based entirely on that event group heavily reliant on the depth of that event group with the same pool of scholarships that track and field uses in the winter/spring. Where your 5th thrower or 5th jumper factored heavily into team performance and your 7th still influenced team score. If that were the case, you'd see teams (especially mid-majors/small schools) choose to go all in on those event groups immediately.
