2) Many Americans know much of it (both "kinds" you mention above), and they're simply OK with it. Libs bad, anything else better. Cereal too expensive, vote for the opposition regardless of who they are.
Add those 2 up, and you get the results from last month. And hard to be optimistic about future elections, too.
I have a relative that pundits would call a low information voter. She voted for Trump this time. Yet she has sworn off politics until next election. Has no idea who Trump picked for cabinet. She doesn’t care and thinks it will all work out fine. No interest whatsoever in what Trump wants to do.
It is scary. I had no idea how easy it would be for the citizenry to just give up their government. I bet less than 15% of the population is paying attention to the government and the rest don’t care.
This is gonna be easy peasy for Trump. There will be no pushback whatsoever.
