Every school should be a distance school. Any program who chooses to invest in any other event group is not deserving of respect. The only way to be respected by this board is to only invest in distance.
I responded to your post that is in this thread. A more direct response to you than you’ve given me. So I’m guessing I’m in the right place. And since you haven’t responded directly to the questions about why this is an exciting hire or how her new boss KNOWS she’ll do a good job I’m pretty sure I know why you want me to post elsewhere.
Both of you, please stop. Get each other's numbers, call or text each other and discuss your differences that way. Let the rest of us read and reply to this thread's intended topic peacefully. The off-topic public banter / back-and-forth serves no one in a positive manner.
What I find more so disgusting then hiring incompetent people based on their gender or race, are functional well rounded ex T&F programs that go all cross country. A lot of wrongs there, insecure and incapable head coaches ther don’t seem to understand their role. Loyola joining the 💩 list
This is likely why the last head coach was run out of there. It could also be why the new assistant coach that was recently hired was hired with no experience. Nothing against Stubler since she could be an amazing coach but typically when programs want to make waves in a specific event group, they don't go t first time coaches.

Word on the street is that Petros hires a home run with his Throws Coach. Should be announced soon. The new hire won’t have to travel too far to relocate.
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois track and field Head Coach Petros Kyprianou continues his surge to assemble his coaching staff around him. This time he grabs a package
Nice. Illinois now has four FT assistants, one PT assistant and a director of ops. looks like no one for jumps yet. I’m wondering how Petros can be the micromanager that’s been claimed here if he can attract vg coaches. including some experienced ones.
He coaches jumps & multis. My guess is he hires a young coach to assist him with those events. That is what he did while at UGA so I am guessing he follows the same model
It doesn't matter if she's female, and it doesn't matter that she has "0" coaching experience. If the hiring coach is looking for a particular candidate for his or her program, and the candidate has shown success and or valuable experience (on the track) which would enhance the program this is a great hire. The "coaching experience" will come with time, and she may have great communication skills which is key to connecting with athletes. The problem with some of these candidates that get hired is that their actual running resumes are less than impressive, and other more qualified candidates are being overlooked due to being a male.
The bottom line is that you need to know your Sh^t no matter your gender or color.
MOSCOW, Idaho - The University of Idaho Track & Field/Cross Country program recently hired Kelsey Betthauser as an assistant coach specializing in the throwing events.
