any way you spin it, the lack of vaccination among republicans caused them to die off at much higher rates than Dems. And somehow they maintain that they had the right idea. Degenerates.
it was a lack of vaccination that killed the Republicans at a much higher rate.
“The gap in excess death rates between Republicans and Democrats is concentrated in counties with low vaccination rates and only materializes after vaccines became widely available,” the study says.
"In counties where a large share of the population is getting vaccinated, we see a much smaller gap between Republicans and Democrats," said Jacob Wallace, an author of that study and an assistant professor of health policy at the Yale School of Public Health.
Imagine all of the Trumpers who knew an unvaccinated person who died of Covid and STILL had a Trump sign in their yard last month.
you all know that nepotism is actually bad, right? We on the same side of the table on this one? Maybe this one little thing you can admit trump is an amoral slimeball who puts the interest of the nation well behind his own interest and that of his family?

Nobody does. Definitely nobody who died exclusively from Covid, and certainly no active runners or healthy children.
remember boys and girls, if you are old or have a compromised immune system you don't count for much in trumplandia and no one has any societal obligation to help you. Hey, you shouldnt' have gotten old in the first place amirite?
Unfortunately 'old and sick' describes tens of millions of trumpers. So that's not great for them.
And yes the plural of anecdote is data. We all know that.
"The glue that holds the Trump administration together is nepotism...it falls upon the authoritarian ruler to legimitize his offspring as successors should he be forced to leave office."

My (now-vaccinated) 60s but healthy parents both had covid. One was slightly sick and the other was virtually asymptomatic. We shouldn't base our health policy around unhealthy people though regardless of the % of the population - looking at the only other "pandemic" of the 2020s, imagine if we had lockdowns because of monkeypox. That'd be simply insane

couple of questions for you, fvck joe biden:
do you or do you not understand that this thing killed a million americans?
do you or do you not understand that if everyone had been fully vaccinated that number would have been a lot lower?

First, fjb is for jobs and business.
I think that if everyone were healthy we'd have had almost no deaths. 70% of the population is overweight / obese and the rest don't tend to be healthy as well. I will admit that the vaccine does provide some protection to people above a certain age category - certainly not 50 but a bit lower than 70 either. Let's say roughly 65 is where taking it actually could provide a benefit.
And the vaccine should be by choice, not by force. Someone like me, in mid-late 20s, who is completely healthy, shouldn't be forced to take the vaccine.

Agip - you know fully well that Covid didn't kill all those Americans. All deaths from other causes were attributed to Covid. That was the narrative of the radical Leftist radicals.
"The weakened condition of the Democratic Party leaves it ill prepared to defend itself against a Republican Party determined to eviscerate liberalism and the left. Evidence of the fraught state of the party can be found everywhere. Pew Research asked Democrats and Republicans whether they were optimistic or pessimistic about the future of their party after the five presidential and midterm elections from 2016 to 2024. Republicans in 2024 were more optimistic, 86-13, than after any of the previous four contests, including Donald Trump’s 2016 victory. Among Democrats, optimism fell to 51 percent, while pessimism rose to 49 percent, well below the 61-38 for Democrats after the 2016 election."
...
"Polling suggests that Trump is ideologically closer to the median voter than Kamala Harris. Third Way, a centrist Democratic think tank, conducted a post-election survey asking voters to place themselves, Harris and Trump on a scale ranging from zero (very liberal) to 10 (very conservative). The mean response for Harris was 2.45, for Trump 7.78 and for all voters 5.63. Matthew Dallek, a political historian at George Washington University, voiced serious doubts by email about the ability of the Democratic Party to compete successfully with the Republican Party: A party whose base consists of culturally liberal, largely well-educated white Americans and a shrinking share of voters of color is almost by definition going to find it impossible to defend American democracy. Every Democratic president from Franklin Roosevelt to Joe Biden won the White House by voicing the fears and defending the interests of the working and middle classes. Democrats cannot credibly claim to represent the ideals of American democracy and peel support away from Trump’s anti-elite, populist G.O.P. without reimagining what it stands for and who is in its coalition."

So, your argument so far is:
1) To hell with 90% of the population of the US since they were unhealthy in the first place.
2) All diseases are essentially the same (monkey pox and covid being cited) and public policy should therefore be the same for each.
OK, I see where you coming from. You certainly seem like a very rational person.

Weirdly enough;
1) US deaths jumped in number essentially matching the deaths attributed to Covid.
2) Excess deaths dropped dramatically once the vaccines were widely distributed.
3) Covid death rates among the vaccinated have been a small fraction of the covid death rates among the unvaccinated for all age groups.
I would like to say, "but you knew all that", but you don't appear to actually know anything.
