maybe i'm being stupid but i converted the data to a gpx file in order to upload to strava but strava won't allow it as it doesn't have time stamps...

perhaps someone else can give it a go? would definitely be interesting to look at the GAP for the hilly and hot desert bits

A couple heavy storms came across the west coast and through Colorado in May.

What kind of pace was Rob supposedly holding during the worst weather (hottest, coldest, wettest, iciest, windiest, etc) days?

We should especially try to account for wind speed/direction when considering his pace. All runners know: wind is relentless.

Isn't that something like 100+ miles in less than 10-12 hours?

Depending on where exactly he was spotted, it could be over 120 miles. Also, that entire route is going to be well over 5,000 feet in elevation.

I'm tempted to offer a huge cash reward for the GPS stuff to be posted tmw. He can't claim he doesn't have internet access as he'll be in Indy.

Here's a photo of the back of RY's RV. Just a couple of observations: The back window is obscured, and there is a nice ladder to the roof. . . If babyjaguar, er I mean TeamMilram, er I mean RY wasn't up there in the middle of the night and the crew didn't know it, they wouldn't know they were leaving him somewhere behind them in the darkness. He'd need to borrow a stranger's phone or something and call them. Just thinking out loud a bit here. . .

Rob tore himself away from his new friends to get a few hours sleep before we got going again that evening at 8pm. From there he made good mileage through the night as we headed into New Mexico, a night not without drama. With Michael driving and Rob running, they were pulled over twice by a local police officer. He was insistent Rob was risking his life doing what he was doing and threatened to shut him down for the night, which would have been the end of his attempt on the World Record. Fortunately that never happened but it was another occasion where you realise it only takes one thing to go wrong to derail this whole grand attempt.

The following dawn we met up with Vanessa and Shacky further down the road.

I would NOT pay him to wear a watch for the rest. He will take you up on it, continue to walk and then feel vindicated for the earlier transgressions

I would offer a reward for the following:

1. The Watch data for his 40 miles thru the Mojave desert in 4 hours. There is no way possible he actually ran that.

2. The phone record from Michael (his crew member) showing an incoming call from a local cellphone at 1:00AM-When Asher saw the RV without a runner. (Robert Young later claimed he used a strangers phone to contact Michael, because they got separated) With the phone record you could also interview the "stranger" who let Robert Young use his phone.

3. Have his repeat his run that he "Claims" to have one on the 29th

By the night of the 29th at 1:20am he’s again recovered and does some of his best running yet - an 18.6mi stretch in just over 2 hours, a 2:53 marathon pace! That winds him a bit so he takes 30 minutes to recover, then back out again for another 5.25 miles in 35 minutes. Now he’s really pooped though, so 1.5 hours of rest before going back out for more. This time it’s 23.6mi in 2:53, or a 3:11 marathon pace

The google docs spreadsheet (which is based on the screenshots of Rob's data posted in Facebook) begins on May 25 and only includes 6 short runs for a total of 14.18 miles, which ranged in pace from 12 to 21 minutes per mile.

They've said that the tracker is mostly in the RV. There's nothing suspect about an RV moving at 4 min mile pace. What are you going to prove?

nothing too crazy in that stretch looking at the point data. overall about 12min pace with some 5:40 pace sections thrown in here and there. par for the course for Rob

This is Sherif Dietz of funkhouser IL. I have been waiting 4 hours for this RV and runner to pass through this town. What the hell is taking so long?

When is this group expected to be here? I need to lock up and head home. Mrs. Dietz is making some fried chicken with all the fixins.

I offered $1000 to recreate just one day of claimed mileage/paces but got no takers.

The issue here is he is likely now legit since this post went up. Any money reward should be for evidence of his stated claims BEFORE this thread went up.

Thanks for the KML file. I went back and analyzed the speed of the tracker as it passed by Mr G's Car Wash in Emporia.

The relevant data is as follows:

38.40671900 -96.21340900 23:38:23

38.40494600 -96.17726600 23:50:23

The car wash sits pretty much in between the above co-ordinates. The distance between the first set and the second set of co-ordinates is 1.99 miles. This distance was traversed in exactly 12 minutes or at the speed of 9.95 mph.

I then analyzed the two videos from the car wash, one with the RV passing and one with the walker passing. I timed the distance each took to go from one road pole to the next. The distance between the two poles captured in the videos is about 23 metres. The RV took about 5 seconds to traverse the distance and the walker took about 21 seconds. This puts the RV at 10.29 mph and the walker at 2.45 mph

So the surveillance basically confirms that the tracker was in the RV at this time and the speed of the tracker is accurate.

yep, the tracker data is useless for determining rob's running paces. It's also useless for verifying a record.

The temp in Brownstown where RY and crew are resting was up in the 90's with full sun this afternoon. I suspect he's getting a little extra rest or watching another DVD movie and giving it a little more time to cool off.
