Sold a fair amount on the way down early in the day but bought it all back (for today's trades) later in the day with long term holdings mostly untouched. My bet is this: reached bottom. That's my gut based on last hald day of traidng. Made a little bit on the day based on dya's trades but have seen a bout 10% depreciation off my highs of a couple of weeks ago.

Sorry for the mess of a post- on sktechy laptop - but out of own on business and couldn't have picked a better time to step away from my obsession, but one's gotta do what one's gotta do....

Had a nice run today in a beautiful part of this country.

May try to get up early to get another run in before tomoorow's sessions but we'll see...

No. The claim was that ETFs have fees too but the pertinent fact is they are far less than managed funds. The fact you think you are making a valid point by asserting noting this is changing the topic is a frightening indictment of capacity to reason -- or perhaps just your honesty.

I don't see where I asked for some Forrest Gump/Sling Blade understanding of how to calculate the price (not the "value" by the way) of a share of a mutual fund.

Not sure what you are trying to say but....dumb would be to think it is not a disadvantage to be able to sell an asset immediately at a known price vs. having to wait to the end of the day to sell at a price that is not yet known.

Euro markets a bit of a rebound today.

I am guessing our markets will come back a bit early....then suspect will go back into the slide.

I read your cite and it in no way supports your claim that a spike in volatility as measured by VIX means an equity bottom is being reached. Just the opposite An increase in volatility is tied to a falling market.
