It seems that when cheaters get called out, their first course of action is to deny and complain about all the negativity. Negativity this, negativity that, the negativity is making them slower, the negativity caused an injury, blah blah blah.

For me, the sure sign of a cheater is the complaining about negativity. Those who aren't cheating simply respond with some facts and data, not silly changing excuses that evolve as they "remember" more.

All you see on the watch (after running) is the total time, and distance. For the splits or anything else in a run you need to use the MySports page. Pin the video explaining what they had done after this started happening, you can see the TomTom data. It has all already been uploaded to a computer.

Ok. You're probably right. I'm used to old Garmins where you had to turn off everything to not recharge twice a day.

A note on my mileage, I’m using GPS coordinates for starting and ending points from tracker and putting that into Google Maps. I match up the routes from tracker points taken and choose most representative route in Google Maps, adjusting route as necessary.

If he zig zags, cuts across a parking lot, gps signal goes +/- 30m within accuracy, etc, it will most likely err on the side of more mileage on the watch.

I had a hard time explaining that to Lisa on our run. There are miles run and then ‘effective miles closer to finish’. That second one is most important!

Rob and crew pulling this data from the website was just about the most suspicious thing they could have done. They surely knew that too, yet still decided it needed to be pulled. So glad you had the foresight to save it.

at about 3:00 into the video we see RY at the end of day six. His shirt and

shorts are black. He is in the desert. Full sun. No hat. Been running all

day.

No sweat marks on the shirt or shorts. No salt stains anywhere.

If he went 6 days across Missouri only averaging 46.6 a day, and he was needing 66/day overall to get the record, why is he not way behind schedule? Missouri alone should've put him 120 miles behind schedule. Was he that far ahead before Missouri?

In order for it to fit in the limit for anon upload, I had to remove the part of the KML that composed the solid line for the path along the roads, but that was irrelevant anyway because it contained no timestamps.

All the timestamped checkpoints of his progress are in there so you can calculate distances/speeds.

noobrunner, you rock! been a busy weekend but I'm hoping to play with this a little tonight.

I would love to crowdsource ideas about what to do here. Since folks are out looking at highway cams, one obvious thing is to intersect highway cams with buffered GPS checkins to identify cams worth pursuing with human eyes.

The Strava idea is interesting... wondering how they will take 12-minute intervals between gps points? one way to find out...

I'd love to hear other ideas, LRC.

Has anyone saved the videos Rob and his crew have released about this? (how they record data, what happened in Lebo) They might be helpful in the future if they ever decide to take those down and backtrack on what they said.

It would be interesting to overlay weather data and get a sort of "Heat Adjusted Pace" for performance sections that stand out.

That guy is the epitome of who someone on Letsrun thinks an "ultra" guy is.

Google Maps makes it 128 miles between those two towns. What does the tracking data say about that stint? Anybody who can read that stuff tell us?

All GPS data would show is that "something" was moving at the given pace for the certain time and miles. Doesn't show if it was an RV, person, or alligator.
