For whatever it's worth (hindsight is 20/20), I think the commentary on this thread about Mo looking like he was hurting was far too negative. I'm not going to speculate on his PR potential, but he clearly had more in the tank today if he needed it. Epic race by Mo.

Yeah but who's capable of rabbiting Mo 9600m at 26:35 pace? (Assuming he could do it.) Why would they? We'll never know because he'l just do what it takes to win.

Some of you guys are hilarious. You make Mo the target of your complaints about tactics. Shouldn't these experienced world class guys with faster PRs than him EVER be able to devise tactics to defeat him?

But he's a brit, and the british control the sport right now, so he can take as many drugs as he wants to and be fine.

Happy Cheptegei got the silver, he did a lot of the work, big talent for future. Like him or hate him, that Mo is unreal, very talented field and they could not stress him.

In other news, the small UK continues to outperform the large, doping Russia in the last six years or so.

Really thought he was going to. What was it, 2k to go when he pulled up to the front right at the finish line just for a second or two? At first I thought he was going to take the lead and try to slow things down. Then I thought he was up at the front but didn't even have the energy to pull far enough ahead to go to the curb and try to slow things down.
