The weather didn’t cooperate for everyone, but we still saw some great performances this week. Here are the AOTW from the MIAC conference this week.
Men
Sprints - although wind aided, Gustie Jade Anstine had quite a week, running 10.58 & 21.59 (wind legal).
Mid Distance - Mac’s John Ihrke beat several D1 runners and a La Crosse All-American to run 1:54 in his first time around the big track this year.
Distance- Olaf’s Kevin Turlington almost broke 14:00 and ranks 5th in the country.
Jumps - Hamline’s Austin Schroeder finishes one bar from a PR at Bethel. He ranks 26th nationally.
Throws - Timmy Ball of Bethel threw the discus far and now ranks 25th in the country try.
Women -
Sprints - St. Mary’s senior Samantha Munson had a nice day at running on the winning 4 x 100 finishing as the top D3 200m runner, now ranked second in the conference.
Mid Distance - Also at St. Olaf, Claire Stein debuts in the 400 hurdles at 1:04.6, just a second off the MIAC lead. She also now ranks second in the MIAC 100 Hurdles.
Distance - Carleton distance ace Hannah Preisser ran a PR in the 5000m at Platteville. Her time is 19th in the country.
Jumps - Ava Loftness of Gustavus hit a big mark of 11.87 in the triple jump at Mankato. She’s 6th in the nation.
Throws - Olivia Duncan of the Gusties threw a great mark of 43.68, narrowly missing a PR. However, Anna Speratos now has a six meter lead in the MIAC Hammer contest after her 54.23 mark. She ranks third in the country.
