I don't wanna cheer on athletes getting hurt, but Kerr found himself in such a terrible position + running in sunglasses for no damn reason. I'm more surprised that something like this hasn't happened to him sooner. I think him finishing on an injury could potentially worsen it, too.
I dislike Kerr to the point that he’s one of the few athletes I actively root against. His positioning was so terrible after 800 that he was never going to be a factor in that race, but I genuinely feel bad for the guy and hope he makes a complete recovery. Injuries are awful.
I think he was in such a bad position as he came in to this race with a niggle. so I guess he was sitting back a bit. It was a terrible position but not how he normally runs.
Wightman could end up with gold yet if Nader gets banned
Nader has improved steadily over the last years. He is no. 7 on the 2025 toplist in the 1500m. In the final only Laros is higher on the list (no. 5) and Laros has only marginally faster.
So why should Nader be banned?
Because he's from a doping country, his father is from a double doping country and he's got a coach who got his reputation from working with mega-doped athletes.
Reputation is important in sport, and I can think of no other reason why an athlete would actively seek out the services of a known doping coach other than the obvious.
Let the record forever show the charisma-free Mr Joshua Kerr of Scotland 🏴 was DFL!
Well he was injured and could have stepped off the track I guess (which he probably should have done). He chose to continue. I’m not a massive fan and I know he rubs people up the wrong way, but I’d never rejoice in anyone being injured…
I think the rounds and the youth got laros. But you have to ask, what was his plan here?
Yeah I agree.
He sprinted off the line for position, got it and then slowed down which is just a terrible waste of energy which matters when in the final 200 you're going to need as much as possible.
Wightman is not just such a smart racer but he's a complete racer. Probably the only type of race he isn't a legit contender in is a race like Paris where it's just a super high-end test of time trialling ability, but we saw him win that sub 3.30 race in Eugene from Jakob and he was heartbreakingly close here in a 3.34 race that was 1.59 at 800. That's old school, elite range in his tool chest there.
What's the Kerr speculation? It looked like he broke his foot to me, like a stress fracture popped on him - a very similar situation/feeling to Brazier in '22. Wild that he basically limped around the remained 600m of the race, noble but that could be a really bad decision if he has broken something. I just rewatched the footage - total non-contact injury there.
Let the record forever show the charisma-free Mr Joshua Kerr of Scotland 🏴 was DFL!
Wightman 🏴 medals again for Scotland just to show their dominance. It will be Kerr's turn of redemption in 2 years. He will slowly become less of a w@nk and become more humble, people will start to root for him. Then he will win and return to old behaviors.
Can we not start saying another guy who won the final is on drugs. Nader has had a steady progression the whole year, Its genuinly embarrassing for the sport if we as fans continue to do this

Portugal, a doping country? Not more than yours, Mr Team Sky.
At least be happy knowing I thought of you, Coevett and a few others when Isaac won. I was "double happy".
