Don't you just want to scream at her to stop jogging? She has the most deceptive stride.
Yes! This is how I feel with Bol.
She has a low and slow arm swing action that really bothers me.
She could have done more tonight. Even if she started to fade, she would have been well clear of the others and still secured silver at worst. Better to risk it IMO, although she was probably having flash backs from when she fell before the line at Budapest.
Even a 48.9 would have been enough to win, and that's not even fast for her

That's assuming Holmes would not have reacted to Bol closing in, she was clearly looking at the screen the whole time.
Batocletti's been racing since January, and in the process has set a 1500m PB, NR's at 3000m (indoor and out), NR's at 5,000m (track and roads) and NR's at 10,000m (road and now track).
Is she doping? I don't know, but at least arm yourself with the facts before you go accusing her.
Yes.
And the facts are, she's been a work in progress since she was 7 years old, growing up with two elite running parents
Now, along with her athletic endeavors, she's a university engineering student preparing her thesis -- or has completed it already.
All while being a practicing Muslim.
Only an LRC goon would profile her as a PED user.
I loved watching Nadia race tonight. On the last lap -- remembering Batocletti's burn up with Chebet at last year's Oly 10,000, almost beating Beatrice -- I actually thought for a moment, coming off the final turn, Nadia was going to catch her. Almost impossible to beat Chebet with her ability to sprint a 26-point final 200, but Batocletti came close.
Much talk has been made of the dual-of-the-century between Kipyegon & Chebet in the 5000 coming up next Saturday, with Tsegay included as extra spice. With Batocletti entered, that final should be impossibly entertaining.
Clearly Bol could have run much faster but the gap was so big she probably thought it was too much. It was hard to tell if Holmes died or just ran smart, but on paper, just a 1 sec faster leg from Bol would have in theory got gold.
However, don't underestimate what a wily competitor Swiety is and she makes it extremely hard to pass her. All the women bunched up behind her at 200m, Bol and Yeargin clashed spikes, it could have been much worse.
World champs/olympics are always like this. There are like 20 countries where its normal to run for a career. Then you have a meet where a country is limited to 3 or 4 per event and also now you 100s of countries needing to enter athletes. What did you expect lol. The gap is always bigger on the world stage vs a diamond league meet lol. Are you new to this sport?
In the men's 100 some guy from a country called NMI ran 12.13. He would only have beaten 4 women.
Tsegay went too early, should have kept it a jog fest until the last 200m. Should have just shadowed her like she was doing.
If wouldn't have mattered. Tsegay just doesn't have the closing speed to match Chebet.
This, but she doesn't have the strength either. There is genuinely nothing - NOTHING - she could do (other than taking out Chebet's knees or something similar) to beat her
