That's the tragedy in this. This would be a great 6 day performance under real race conditions. Unfortunately this is just a made up format which will be recognized by nobody.
Is that because of daylight savings? I wonder if that was deliberate? Probably not, but it would make sense. Urg. Imagine doing it 10 mins ahead on the daytime clock, going nuts, then someone telling you you were fifty over. That would be chunder time.
Say he gets to 850km for 6 days, puts him in the top 50 all time for 6 days
Better than I’d expected, obviously not on track for any WR but still it’s 850km in 6 days
I hope you all learned your lesson that you don't have to be homely and decrepit to be an ultrarunner. Nedd is a good runner, not the best in the world but still good.
That wouldn't be 46th run though, it would be 46th runner, big difference. And it'd be more than that because that's a mens list and there are women who have run farther too.
You guys sound like a sad bunch of old jealous boomers. Time has marched on fellas and social media is here to stay. Nedd is lucky to be born when he was. I don’t think when he ran across Australia he had any idea he would become a Tiktok star. He was just an average guy raising money for charity. He would’ve been approached by a marketing team and who wouldn’t have gone with it. Heck Kouros tried to milk every cent he could. No matter what Nedd does you guys won’t acknowledge any merit which says a lot. Any of you so called ultra athletes done 500miles in 5days and change? I’m guessing not and if you had was it easy? you guys are critiquing the timing when he’s using an Olympic track with timing mats, livestream and gps is the biggest joke ever. I bet the Casio was just invented in your day and the events were measured with an analogue car odometer. All this talk about 6 day races too. If this were a 6 day event he wouldn’t have slept half as much and he’d be 900k easy. I’ve never had any interest in ultra running, always considered those people head cases rather than athletes. Had no interest in Nedd whatsoever but listening to you resentful old fogeys is making me like him more and more

His effort is admirable, everyone acknowledges that.
Spruiking a record attempt for marketing purposes, when it was never even remotely possible for a runner at his level is disingenuous at best.
The damage to his health caused by chasing an unattainable, ill conceived, poorly prepared goal, is horrible to watch.
For the record, I thought he was most likely to take 15 days when he started. Now, sub 12 days is still possible, sub 13 days more realistic.
So far he's exceeded my expectations, but it's only half way.
You’re still missing the point mate. It’s called marketing and it’s working. Right place, right time and he’s going to do well out of this whatever happens now plus he’s raised millions for charity which is probably more than any of your ultra heroes ever did so good luck to him I say.
